With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

The fridge did not work. Fan in the bath did not work. It was beside railway. The reception was in the basement, door was always open , so strangers could easily enter hotel. At breakfast, rooftop had great view.

The hotel is just round the corner from the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and St. Sofia Church. It is located right at the centre of all the places one would want to see, but tucked away enough to allow space away from the madding crowd. Excellent base for tourists, especially first-timers to Istanbul. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The owners are very welcoming, the night manager Sayed is a great guy. Breakfast is the best thing about the hotel. It is a generous offer, and served on the roof cafe overlooking the Blue Mosque on one side and the sea on the other. The environment is really quite something. The breakfast chef lady is caring and lovely. She creates a new salad every morning alongside all her regular yummy dishes. The closest grocery store is less than a 3-minute walk away, and there is a very handy coiffure shop right opposite the hotel that opens at 9 am. The owner does both hair and facial, and make-up. Three of us traveled together, all of us got henna on the hand done by her. We are very happy customers.

Don't understand why this hotel has such terrible reviews from some people - of course it is noisy at 5am with the prayer call but so would any other hotel in the Sultanahmet area, you're in walking distance to two of the biggest mosques. My partner and I had a very enjoyable stay in the loft suite. The bed was extremely comfortable and the jacuzzi bath was a treat. There were complimentary snacks in the room when we arrived - biscuits and turkish delight which we enjoyed. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that. All the staff were super nice and helpful, helping us with luggage and checking if we would like the room to be cleaned when going out etc. The hotel is a short walk (about 5 minutes) from both the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, which are both near tram and metro stops if you want to go further afield. Overall would highly recommend!

I had a really bad experience with them. I reserved 5 day stay. Just day before my arrival, they cancelled my reservation telling that they cannot charge from credit card- an complete lay. After which they didin't waited for 12h period but immediatelly cancellted my reservation. On my suprise, I wanted to reserve again I noticed that the prices for same room have gone skyrocket and they were sold in a few minutes. So as one can see here, there was a clear intention to earn more monety or to put someone else instead of my family. I have made a complaint to Booking and they were punished on some way.

Looked ok on Bookings app. It was cheap and not cheerful. Very noisy, you can hear everything going on above and below you. Next to a train track and a mosque with the 5am call to prayer outside your window. Most disturbing was that people kept trying to get into our room - I went to the door one time and saw it was a staff member.... did he not know the room was occupied? Why was he trying to enter anyway? Felt unsafe and freaked out. The view from the breakfast room was excellent. Sadly the breakfast choices were poor quality - cheap and tasteless products. We booked 5 nights but checked out after the first night with only a refund for 1 night but we couldn’t stay another minute. Awful hotel. The best thing was the choice of good hotels all around where we found a fabulous place called the Sultans Royal. It got 5 stars from my husband and I - great place and staff.
