We have a wonderful stay last weekend in Six Senses Kocatas Mansions, it was a truly relaxing and delightful experience in style.
The hotel is brand new, located in a secluded area of Istanbul called Sariyer, with the direct access to a spectacular Bosphorus promenade (you can enjoy a picturesque walk/run for about 15km one way!!). This hotel is definitely off the beaten track, providing the secluded and luxurious environment to get away from the buzz of the big city.

The hotel is elegantly decorated, classy furniture, local touches of the Turkish Mansion combined with the cutting edge technology. Our suite was spacious, with the large bathroom and comfortable sitting area. Six Senses is a wonderful hotel brand when it comes up to sustainability, so many small touches in regards to being more mindful, more environment-friendly, more thoughtful about your choices, more aware of the local produce.

We tried both restaurants Dafne & Toro, one is Turkish and another one is Latin (from the world-famous Chef Richard Sandoval), the food and service was amazing, we truly enjoyed the selection of dishes, prepared with local ingredients and accompanied by the nice choice of local wines.

Special mentioning though deserves the breakfast....It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, every dish was tasting great, local flavors at its best! Perfection! Definitely coming back for it!

During our weekend I asked for a massage and even though the famous Six Senses spa is not opened yet, the hotel provided the treatment in the specially treatment arranged room. The therapist Fatma was very professional, understanding my requests, thoughtful and speaking good English.

We are looking forward to be back to this beautiful hotel and to experience again life in lovely Kocatas Mansions.

Although we live in Istanbul we like to escape to a hotel in the city occasionally for a night away without our children.
In February we stole a night away at the newly opened Six Senses Koctas Mansions just after it had opened. We had a fabulous time and were totally spoilt by the amazing staff, beautiful bedrooms and delicious food.
This time we fancied staying in the centre is Istanbul and booked to stay at Soho House. We lasted an hour at Soho House. The deafening noise of construction made all the outside areas unusable and unpleasant. We put in a call to Koctas who had an available room and quickly jumped in a cab to take us there.
Thank goodness we did. As soon as we walked into the idyllic courtyards our nerves were soothed. Next we were shown to our room which had been upgraded to an incredible suite. Six Senses have by far the best design teams of any hotels I’ve stayed in throughout the world. The attention to details, the luxurious bed linen and last but not least the staggering view of the Bosphorus made the room one of the best I have ever stayed in.
What also stands Koctas Mansions apart is the world class service. We have found it hard to find great service in Istanbul, even at the big name, famous hotels. Here every member of staff is smiling and attentive without being obsequious or over the top. It feels like coming home to your family house.
Once again we had stunning food, for breakfast lunch and dinner. F and B is headed up by the perfectionist F and B manager Nuno, who is so attentive, knowledge and talented. We didn’t actually chose from the menu, Nuno chose for us and everything that came to the table was mouthwatering.
The GM Kemal and front of house staff are warm, friendly and approachable and are always available to help without being obvious.
I could go on but I think you get the message. Just go and try out this incredible hotel. It’s a piece of paradise.

This Six Senses is a commendable hotel. The mansion itself has been refurbished from a historic Ottoman mansion belonging to a Pasha. Every building in this hotel has a history and even walking around the lobby makes for a very interesting experience.

Overall I enjoyed my trip at this hotel, it is situated pretty far from the busy streets of Istanbul, making a much more quiet and calm experience next to the picturesque shore of the Bosphorus.

However this also meant the location was pretty far from the heart of Istanbul, so if you intend on traveling to the main attractions be prepared for sometimes hour long rides. But this sacrifice was to be expected, as the Six Senses hotel makes up for it with its calm and quiet atmosphere, something hotels in the centre of Istanbul cannot boast.

The Spa was also rather commendable, though it was pretty far from the hotel, the service itself was very enjoyable.

Every room has an iPad from which you can manage every intricacy of your stay ranging from room temperature to ordering room dining. I found this feature to be very convenient and modern, making it not necessary having to call the reception for every need.

Things can get pretty windy here at Istanbul, and I noticed the rooms can noisily creak, which usually goes unnoticed but can be an inconvenience at night when trying to fall asleep, such is the legacy of a historic but frail building. The walls are also quite thin in this mansion, and you can hear quite clearly what is going on in the corridors. It is not a huge issue, but can be quite disturbing depending on your neighbors.

Other than that the stay was pretty much flawless. I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing experience overall! If you’re looking for a couple getaway, family stay (yes, there is a kids club) or simply for business) this is the place to be! Versatile and very friendly staff made us feel “at home” and responded effectively and in a timely manner to all your needs/expectations. Ms. Derya, Mr. Emin and many more.. GM Mr. Nebi are all super welcoming, creating a sense of warmth and well being! Super spacey and waterfront Ottoman-era property, the hotel also offers some daily activities…water taxi service, DIY activites and many more! It s a boutique hotel with ~40 spacey rooms (you cannot get spacier in Istanbul) you may think the location is a little far from the Taksim center but it takes only 3-4 minutes more than the other Kurucesme or Nisantasi locations…The hotel is getting bigger and better (currently under construction) offering a great spa, and many more restaurants to be opened by the end of 2022 and an “avlu” (courtyard) concept…I would definitely come and stay here again here and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for peace, culture, history and great luxury service!

Oh SIX SENSES how you captured our hearts and soul. By far without a doubt the best hotel in Istanbul.
I travel with my husband to Istanbul 4/5 times year , i've stayed at Fairmont , Raffles , St Regis, Four Seasons Shangri - la and Six Sense hotel exceeds all our expectation..
We had a wonderful stay and were pampered like royalty. I cannot remember ever having stayed at a better hotel. The service , the room , the view , everything was perfect. It was probably one of our most memorable stays.
The six sense team went out of their way to make us feel welcome , no detail was too small.
A huge thank you to Zeynap in reservations who catered for me and my family needs and a thank you to the GM who took time out to speak to my husband, about the upcoming plans of the hotel.
We stayed in the Junior suite ,it was big and extremely stylish with a stunning view of the Bosphorus it was a dream come true. But the biggest difference were all the staff they were nice and polite and they really that took care of us. This hotel is gold-standard of what an outstanding hotel should be like ..
Thank you for a wonderful time . Not only will we be back in November for my husband birthday , we will tell all our friends about this amazing hotel you have truly won my heart.
Best wishes
Natalie & Serkan

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in.. Not only in terms of the luxurious interiors, exteriors and gardens, but because of the incredible location by the Bosphorus and the exquisite high quality way of renovating this mansion into a hotel..
Of courses not to forget the exceptional professionalism and friendliness of all employees, especially Nadia from reception who was so sweet, classy and professional...
Highly recommended hotel.. and will definitely go there again

While the location is away from old Istanbul, the calmness of the location is quite special. The renovation was extremely well done with improvements and expansion planned. The food and beverage experience was exceptional. Service so well done. Definitely recommend the water taxi service for visits to old Istanbul as shortens the travel period (no traffic) and the experience and views of the riverfront are fantastic.

The Six Senses Kocatas Mansions sits perkily besides the Bosphorus and is housed in 2 historic (waterfront facing ) mansions. It is elegance 'magna cum laude' with a gallery of art and a treasure trove of decadence that is a melange of Belle Epoque and Ottoman craftmanship.

I delighted in my Bosphorus facing room with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows which elevated the view. Elaborate furnishing like high-backed chairs and a writing desk created a homey environment. The bath was appealing with a free standing tub, walk in shower and double vanity.

The property is richly endowed with eateries. To name a few: the Kahve cafe is a casual option serving pastries, Turkish cakes and light bites during the day while the Toro is a fine dining eatery offering Latin/Pan Asian fusion cuisine. I enjoyed a Lamb Shank in this restaurant.

The sparkling amenity in the hotel is the sprawling spa with hammams, yoga studio, holistic Anti-Aging Center and much more.

If, your looking for a stately manor with a melding of Ottoman extravagance and Belle Epoque sensuality ..........then try the.........Six Senses Kocatas Mansions...................Mainly for the Decadence and the Spa.

We stayed at Six Senses for 6 nights. The hotel is lovely. The room (junior suit - Bosporus view) was truly amazing. The only downside with this hotel is the service at the restaurant and the breakfast area. They are very very slow. Every morning at breakfast for all the 5 days we had to wait over 45min for our fried egg / omelet to arrive. We had to constantly remind them that we ordered tea/coffee that also took 15/20min to be served. This was the only down side of the hotel. We were here with 25 of our friends and we all experienced this lack of service.
