This is my second time staying and I just love the smiling happy faces that beamed a great welcome when they recognised me . I love the convenience of the location. Just a short 5 mins walk from the airport train and one block away from the tram station that takes you straight into Sultanahmet , the Grand Bazaar and...

Do not let the dowdy lobby deceive you. If sleep and personal safety is important to you, this is actually a very good hotel. Given the area it is fringing some people tend to overlook it or give it a pass. I came here solo and would not have chosen this hotel if not for the travel agent. Have to...

We stayed in family room on the 5th floor: the size of it was of a regular double, with 4 beds stuck into that space. When I got up from bed I hit my head on the lamp on the wall. People entering the bathroom stumbled on my bed. To reach the room after leaving the elevator on the 4th...

We stayed at the Gozde hotel for two nights in April. We chose this hotel for its reasonable price and proximity to the main sites in Istanbul. It's about a 1.5km / 15 mins walk to the Grand Bazaar and the Sultanahmet area, and is easy to get to from the airport (Aksaray metro station is about a 10 minute...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.

“Rooms on the corner are small.”

“As we were 2 couples it was cheaper to get the family room rather than 2 doubles. If you're in a similar position and don't mind sharing then do the same thing. Also, be aware that outside the major branded expensive hotels the rooms in Turkey are quite small, so don't expect acres of space.”
