This is a small, intimate hotel nestled among shops and restaurants along the waterfront in Istanbul. It is a busy area with lots of people roaming around. The rooms are modern and clean with interesting décor. The location is superb....close to a tram stop with easy access to the famous sights in Istanbul. There is a small and friendly staff... More

The hotel itself is a very humble looking hotel, perhaps 2/3 star in the middle of a parade of restaurants. However it is clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent. The staff at the hotel were so very helpful and kind. Right by the Galate Bridge and with easy walking distance to some major attractions. With a sea view room... More

The location of this place cannot get better - exceptional view, at a centerpoint of the city, with all needed amenities around. I originally booked a very reasonable city-view room, and with a small supplement at check-in (just ask) I got a 4-window, corner family suite, which had not only stunning views, but was also very reasonably sized. Breakfast is... More

If you prepay you can get a good deal for 2 rooms (89€ per room) Pros: Able to hire transport to pick us up from airport (30€) Free wi-fi 24 hour front desk (staff helped us get some alcoholic drinks at... Hettie Hotel is situated in front of ferry station, 150 m from Galata bridge, 150 m from Karakoy Tram station. Very quite hotel with perfect view on Bosfor. It,s the best place to see Stanbul. It's just 15 minutes trip by Tram to the Hagia Sofia Museum. Thank you very much Mohammed for your great service and see you soon.

We found this hotel by on the internet. We picked i because the cruise line wanted $950/night in Istanbul prior to the cruise! This was about $100/night. Nice, clean, basic room about 1/2 mile (easily walk-able) to the cruise port. We stayed here for 3 nights before our Viking cruise departed. We hired a private guide through Istanbul and he... More

Traveled as group of four friends to Istanbul earlier this year. We decided everything quickly and went for a hotel with a good price whilst being close to the city centre. What we got in return was excellence. The booking wasn't done directly with the hotel, and they were more than happy to provide transport from the airport and back... More

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
