This is probably the coolest hotel I have ever stayed at. It is a mix of old and new, and it really works. We rented one of the suites and I can definitely recommend that. Was a bit weird to have the shower inside the room rather than a separate bathroom, but it didn't ruin the experience at all. The... More

After spending countless hours scanning Istanbul hotels on trip advisor, I finally chose the House Hotel Galatasaray for the location and the intriguing design of the rooms. Our four days there lived up to all of my expectations. The neighborhood was perfect for what my boyfriend and I were looking for. Trendy, walking distance to great neighborhood restaurants and close... More

The location is great, the building is an example for good taste and at the same time considering the environment and special location. The only deficiency is the fact that there is no elevator. If you book the penthouse, be aware of the fact that you will have to climb 5 floors to get to your room. All is forgotten... More

this one, is the first and the most charming one of the house hotels. they chose a cool building in a very interesting area, they did a clever interior design, keeping the dignity of the building and the end result : PERFECT the rooms are nice,, you might feel a bit annoyed by the shower but having it out of... We booked this hotel thru the Design hotels website and it turned out well. A bit difficult to find if you're working from public transport (Tophane stop, up the hill, right, right again, pause for breath, then one more hill). Old apartment building that has been converted to a small hotel. Excellent breakfast that you will work off on the... More

Dear House Guest, Thank you for your review regarding your stay at The House Hotel Galatasaray! It is lovely to hear that you were happy with your pick from the Design Hotels website. It seems that you took the long route from the Tophane tram stop, we are the street on the right just before going up the hill! Nevertheless... More

This was my first visit to Istanbul and I am happy selected The House Hotel Galatasaray. It is a very cozy, quite small (not sure on the number of rooms, but you don't see too many people on the way), have well equipped elegant rooms and a very nice dining area on top with stunning views on the City. Terrific boutique hotel in a wonderful neighbourhood. Very friendly and accommodating staff made a four-night stay seem too short. Stylishly decorated rooms, the executive suite is reminiscent of a grand European hotel. The view from the lounge across the rooftops to the old city is lovely. A lift to the top floors would be welcome but the staff and the... More

An awesome base to meander the windy, hilly streets of bohemian Beyoglu area rammed with antique stores and cosy local cafes. It may be a quiet little area, but only a short walk to party central of Istiklal Cadessi. I felt pretty spesh' in the grand proportions of my Executive suite. Very Stylish.

This hotel deserves a 3.5/5. The photographs make it really look good. The hotel itself is very cute and kitsch, but the small details were disappointing. For example, we had 2 TVs in our room with no working channels. When we asked, we were told this happened a lot. The cleaning lady only emptied our bin and made our bed... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
