Detailed Reviews
Location: Excellent. It's convenient to many of the top sites in old Istanbul, between the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. Easy to walk to any of those things. But also a tram just one block from the hotel if you need public transit. We found walking the fastest option as traffic can be heavy in Istanbul.
Service: Everyone is friendly and helpful. We had booked tours prior to check in but they were quite willing to help with that. Their Guest Services staff recommended an awesome place for New Year's Eve and helped us book it (which was very helpful as it was last minute). The staff in the Sultan's Spa were also friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure what to do in my first hammam visit but they guided me (and scrubbed and rinsed me). That was a fun experience to try.
Breakfast: Was very good. It was a basic buffet with good variety (eggs, fruits, breads, cereals, etc) and you could order pancakes or eggs to order. Service was very friendly and efficient (they knew our preferences by the third day). The tangerines, oranges, kiwi and pineapple were sooo good and fresh.
Rooms: We had a room facing the passage way and restaurants across and were worried but it was quiet and comfortable. The rooms are full of clever space saving elements and design. The decorated glass bathroom door swings in and becomes the shower door. There is a "U-shaped" drawer under the sink that uses that space wonderfully. You can tuck smaller things in there that you want quick access to but don't need to take up space on the sink counter. A pull out table on the mini bar was handy. They hang their brochures from a wall pouch rather than cluttering the desk. All these elements have a sultan-ish feel so the room had an exotic flair but was quite efficient. There was a small problem with our room (slow shower drain) and they immediately corrected it.
We'd recommend the hotel to visitors for its excellent location, friendly service and quirky clever rooms!

It was Valentine's weekend and we arrived on Friday to a very attentive hotel assistant who was able to tell us, in brief, all we needed to know about the hotel, its facilities, and the top attractions. And that's while we were waiting to be checked. The rooms were romantically catered for throughout the weekend nice touches like rose petals over the bed and clean sheets every day. The buffet breakfast has a lavish choice, in addition to a grill service. The Olive restaurant has a first-class rooftop panoramic view, the food, waiter service, and live music was first class.

Everything about our stay here was perfect. Despite our flight being delayed by 4 hours and arriving at 5am our pre arranged transfer with the hotel was still waiting at the airport. On arrival at the hotel reception was sympathetic and helpful and got us coffee as we checked in. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious. Everyday it was cleaned, bed made and resources replenished. Soft towels, comfortable bed, kettle, tea/coffee and toiletries all included. Shower room just right. Our room was on the front of the hotel and this is the heart of the tourist district with bars and restaurants so has the potential for noise peak season (hence the ear plugs supplied!) but it wasn't an issue for us in February. In fact the location is a great asset as you can walk to almost all the key landmarks that you might want to visit and good food and drink is easy to find. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. I loved this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it to you.

We stayed at Hotel Sultania for 6 night (feb 2020) and this being my third trip to Istanbul. I must say by far this is the best hotel in terms of service, accommodation, friendly staff, good variety of breakfast and location. I will most definitely stay here again. Previously I stayed at 2 other hotels one of which was a well know 5* hotel, but it did not live up to the promises which they had made on their website.
Hotel Sultania provided a warm welcome service with complimentary sweets on arrival, the room and bathroom was slightly on the small side considering we needed a cot for our baby but the service from the staff made up for this. The hotel provided
free wifi, cable tv, room service and complimentary toiletries.
Hotel Sultania promised and delivered an excellent service. Gulshen (guest relations) was so attentive, would always great my husband, myself and our daughter every morning at breakfast she got to know our names and would ask if we need anything assistance in getting around the city and would direct us when needed, I thank you immensely. Hassan (reception) was so lovely and helpful he would assist us with taxis and give an estimate of how much a trip would cost, thank you. Dilek (restaurant) would keep my daughter entertained at breakfast time, thank you for all your efforts and a great big thank you to Anil (restaurant) Ahmet (receptionist), Musa (chef), Simge (kitchen) and Garbi (reception).
Hope to see you all again very soon. Keep up the good work X
Love from Mr and mrs Khan and safa noor x

We are here with my wife for a week and I can say we do not want to go back to our home. The rooms are very specially designed, the staff are very hospitable ready to help for every single question or request. Musa the chef prepares very special gluten free and vegetarian food, the restaurant staff takes care of you and the location is very close to most of the landmarks. You can just walk and enjoy the old city.
Thank for Sultana family for providing us the lovely holiday. Thank u Golden and her staff, we do appreciate all of your effort

We found the staff to be very helpful, and generous when we forgot a few items. The rooms are comfortable, and the spa (massage, sauna, hamam, pool) is a nice option if you want to just enjoy in evening without having to book a larger Hamam in the area. The bed and bedding (proper duvet) were good, and room quiet. Breakfast had a very good selection, they made coffee to order, and price was very good in comparison to what you found elsewhere. Daughters loved mini pancakes with chocolate syrup, banana and strawberries.
This is an older hotel, but has been kept up, and nice to have wood floors. There might possibly be larger rooms in corners or on newer side, but we were comfortable. Olivia restaurant on top has good views.
Note for elderly and anyone with issues walking, the streets are cobblestone and taxis will not always drive to door as the side streets are not for cars. We would not recmd eating at nearby restaurants as they are touristy, overpriced and not good quality food, but further down at end of hoca pasa there are good bargains and good simple food, used by locals. The area of old town does not cater to high end, or new types of restaurants - this is more in Taksim, Besiktas, and up in Bebek, but it is a long ride with traffic being quite congested here - even on weekends.

We are really impressed with the hotel and the staff. Rooms are really clean and in ottoman style. We arrived at very early hours 7am and the staff was extremely welcoming offered us refreshments and checking in was only a few minutes. Still to explore the city but everything is extremely close to the hotel. Just booked a few trips offered by the receptionist( very friendly and helpful). Will update on the end of our stay:-).
