The location of hotel is really strategic you are surrounded of symbolic touristic you don't need to make plan to go over there.
I would like thank beret and Karin and also manager Muhmet for his help it was really nice vacation with them

+1
Posting reviews is not me but I honestly feel it will be selfish and unrespectful if I don’t express my gratitude to the experience I have with the wonderful people and the service. G.M. Mehmet and his staff provided, they took care of me and my family beyond the expectations and we felt like we were at home away from home and they left an unscratchable image of hospitality at its best in our hearts. “Beautiful rooms and ideal location are the least positive things to talk about”. From a short notice reservation to an upgrade to most comfortable stay and unexpected shortening of stay and refund( not even a question asked) we had it all with a beautiful smile and professionalism from Mr.Mehmet and his staff. Looking forward to see you again. Best wishes.

It was my second visit to Istanbul, But it was my first time to stay at Lausos Hotel. My stay at this hotel was like a wonderful dream that I would never want to wake up from. I came wih my family, and I can tell confidently that they strongly agree with what I am saying now:
- The hotel location was fabulous and very close to the most famous tourist attractions like: Topkapi, Blue Mosque. Aia Sofia, Grand Bazar and much more.
- The view from the upper floor rooms is unique where you can see the bosphore view, blue mosque and the other famous attractions.
- The service was more than excellent, and the staff were very professional, smart, helpful, friendly, and sopisticated. The way how they treated us made us feel as if we were in 7 stars hotel and a part of their family.
- It was also very clean and well furnished. Concerning the rate, I can say it's reasonable somehow.
I highly recommend this hotel and I wish if one day this family business may grow and will have many chains worldwide starting from Dubai ;)

Already at the reception one received a cozy welcome. The entire staff from reception, over cleaning personal to breakfast room staff was very friendly and at least bi-lingual. Location is superior. Just 2 minutes from the blue mosque and the other historical attractions. Also, it is close to all other facilities in Sultanahmet areas such as restaurants bazaars tram etc. It's very safe environment where you can go out late without having to be afraid. Excellent room with Fantastic panorama view

I stayed at Lausos Hotel and everything was just fabulous location, staff, and room. The hotel staff welcomed their guest with great hospitality. The location is very close to all main sightseeing places in old Istanbul and easy to reach other places by Tram. I definitely recommend Lausos Hotel to Istanbul lovers.

We had booked a four night stay at this hotel. On the 3rd night we found out there was no water in the hotel and as a result we could not shower or flush the toilets. When we inquired about the water the front desk kept on telling us it was a problem in the area and that it should be fixed that evening. When we awoke the next morning there was still no water, after further inquiries we found out that the water had been shut off for the past three days and we had be living off the reserves in the hotel water tank. Why this was not disclosed to us at checkin was poor.
With no ability to shower, brush our teeth and not being able to flush the toilets our room was quickly becoming very unpleasant. We then made a decision that we would move to another hotel. When we inquired to get a refund back for our unused night we were told there was no refunds. Needless to say we were upset that even though the hotel could not provide the basic services we were still obligated to pay, this is not good business practices.
We went to inquire at the hotel half a block away and they had water, so I am not sure why our hotel did not have any. We ended up moving to this hotel which was 30Euro cheaper and had provided larger rooms, better breakfast and overall better facilities.
Also be aware that the rooms are very small and the photos shown on their website are only the high priced rooms. The hotel is located in a good area that is close to all the sights but as we tried to relocate to another hotel in the same area we found that the others who offered more were at least 30-40Euros cheaper a night.

Pros:
- great location very close to the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and the main street
- staff were nice and helpful (pretty funny too)
- we got upgraded to the top floor room with floor to ceiling windows and a great view to the south west (Marmara Sea)
- room was big and nicely decorated
- airport transfer well organised, private and very convenient (25 EUR each way)
Cons:
- our room was above the street and facing a minaret, the windows were quite thin so we could hear all the traffic and the minaret in the morning, ear plugs helped a lot
- we had a bathtub with only a hand held shower, was a little inconvenient
- my husband tried to take a bath, and the water was a bit yellowish/brownish
- lift only holds 4 ppl and broke down during our stay, the 5th floor can only be reached via stairs from the 4th floor anyway (we like to take the stairs so it wasn't such a hassle for us)
- we were recommended a tour when we checked in, it was from Grayline I believe... it was really bad and definitely not worth the price considering it was low season. All the main attractions in Sultanahmet can be done without a tour, all the sights are walking distance and close to eachother
Other comments:
- breakfast was ok, nothing fancy, mostly continental and not much hot food
Overall:
- price was ok if you don't care about the noise
- I would not stay again because of the noise

Response from Panoramic360, Guest Relations Manager at Lausos Hotel
Responded Nov 29, 2011
Dear guest, Thank you for your valuable feedback, According to the occupancies we are upgrading the rooms because of the Lausos hotel great views. I certainly do not recommend old city location if the guest not want to hear the pray call. The mosques are everywhere in Sultanahmet. Hotel Lausos is located in the heart of the old city center and there is a small Street that our guests are able to arrive to the front of the hotel by car. That Street it can be noisy during day time but after 10 pm to 8 am is became a quite street . We do not have offen noise complain but if you decide to comeback we can arrange your room on the other side of the Street. According to your water complain we can’t tell you much thing because this is the first complain. Actualy we have changed all the water system and the water tank some months ago. The municipality guarantee us that the tap water is drinkible but we do not recommend to our guest to drink the tap water because of the chlorine make untasty. Thank you for telling that you didn’t enjoye the grayline (Plan tour) The old city tour. You are definetly correct that people can walk to the Blue mosque, Hagia sophia, Grand bazaar, hippodromme , Obelisk and German Fountain from our hotel because Lausos hotel is located in between all fo them. You have done all that visits in 3 hours 15 minutes time with 35Euro p.p fee Our reception may recommend you the tour because you have stayed 2 days. Some times our guest have limited time and they don’t want to ways time searching the museums and they prefer to be with professionel guide to ask the details of the tours. Anyway we have reported this to Plan tour wich is one of the biggest tour Company in Istanbul. After my contact they are agree to refund the full amount of your Money if you can report them your right reasons. With my best regards, Sales and Guest relations Manager Mustafa Özduman Phone: +902126380707 Email: reservation@hotellausos.com

Always a friendly face on reception, whatever time we arrive and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel is near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia (~5 min. walking) also Topkapi Palace (5 min) and Grand Bazaar (10 min walking). The very good value for money and ideal location in the old Sultanahmet district.

The personnel was very good, they helped us with all our questions/problems, including carrying our luggage, giving us a wake- up call last night to get to the airport, arrange the airport shuttle, etc. The room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel is near the blue mosque (~5 min. Walking), and from there you then reach all other central Istanbul places.

We reserved a room and it had a really nice Spa bath. Having a relaxing Spa bath after many hours touring and sightseeing in the city is great.
I am sure they will definitely come to your assistance. Both Abdullah & Mahmet, the front office staff were very helpful during our stay there(26th July 2014). We stayed one night and had our onward journey to Selcuk, Kusadasi and Cappadocia only to return to Istanbul after 4 nights in the same hotel for two more nights. On our request, they obliged us and we did leave our luggage in their safe custody. I would also like to mention that, after we checked out on time on our departure day,we still had three hours on hand before we could set off to the airport, once again we had left our luggage with them with no issues. Do try emailing them of your request. Good Luck and have a wonderful experience in Turkey. Please feel free to clarify any queries, you are most welcomed :)
