A very good place to stay. The staff are the highlight as they couldn't do enough for you. Their recommendations were always reliable for tours, places to visit or restaurants and they always helped you with a smile on their face. The location is superb and you were able to walk to the major sites. The afternoon 'happy hour' on... More

We recently stayed at Hotel Amira for one night on our trip to Turkey, and it was fantastic as others have attested. We had booked a deluxe room, and were surprised with an upgrade to a fantastically large suite with a balcony with great Bosphorus views! The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of room along... More

So many great things about this hotel even if you leave out the spectacular rooftop bar overlooking the ocean and Blue Mosque! Staff is friendly, efficient and very helpful; room was comfortable and clean with good mattress; breakfast was full with many options; the location is walkable to every important site and in neighborhood full of bars and restaurants. The... More

I stayed there once, last year. Excellent location, you can walk easily to many sightseeings in this area. Room, bathroom, cleanliness overall - all was OK. Good and friendly service. Interior design is interesting and may be is not up to everyone's taste, but I liked it. I wished only to have larger desk - it was too small to... More

What do you need when visiting a large, historic city in a foreign location? In my opinion, you need 3 things: 1. A convenient location to call home, 2. A friend and 3. A clean, affordable room. Istanbul’s Amira Hotel satisfies all 3 requirements with ease. Located just a few minute walk from the heart of the Sultanahmed district, the... More

This is by far one of the best hotels we've every stayed in - from location and service to rooms and food, I don't think it can compare. We arrived in the evening and were offered drinks over an introduction talk about Istanbul telling us what we can do and where to eat. We were upgraded to family deluxe room... More

Well done Trip Advisor. We chose via you and weren't let down. Great location for the old city. Best part though was the wonderful introduction to the city and the hotel on the roof top cosy area upon arrival. Well done Amira as that's the best welcome we have ever had and you ensured our next 48 hours were well... More

We stayed here because of all the excellent reviews on trip advisor. We were not let down at all, this place is brilliant. Location is excellent for all the tourist attractions, rooms are very clean and comfortable and we had a room with a balcony which was very nice. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever seen... We stayed at the Hotel Amira recently for four nights, and we were more than pleased by our choice. Our room was spacious and immaculate. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and responsive. We loved the location which was within easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The roof deck is a peaceful oasis... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
