Absolutely great location...but much more. Staff so friendly. Breakfast wonderful. We had a balcony which allowed a wonderful view and although the roof top was closed we got wonderful pictures from it. Within easy walking distance of all the major sites.(Blue mosque etc) the call to prayers is not an annoyance but a gentle reminder of where you are. We...

This is a boutique hotel with an excellent location, walking distance to blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and grand bazaar. Their services were very good, they guided us very well. We booked two rooms one standard and other deluxe. Standard room didnt have a jaccuzi in it but deluxe room had. Bed size in both rooms were queen size or even...

We have stayed at this hotel for two nights and my rate is 4.5 out of 5. I would like to note the good location of the hotel – close to the main historical attractions of the city (about 10 min of walking to Blue Mosque). Rooms are clean (but not very new furniture in a bathroom). Good service. Please,...

My wife and I had an enjoyable stay. We went to Istanbul for a four day visit and the Amira was the perfect location for us with reasonable rates. The Amira is located in Sultanahmet, only a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the tram stop and other sights. The airport transfer arranged by the Amira was easy,...

Absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Arrived in the very early part of the morning... The staff were kind enough to offer us a room to freshen up until our room would be available later in the day. Staff are all very helpful and assisted us with a map of the area. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from the...

while the rooms are simple, the place is spotless, the service is excellent. I loved the breakfast (NUTELLA) and it was a nice touch the afternoon British Tea at 5:00 pm. The terrace is super, having a glass of wine while watching the sunset and hearing the pray of the mosques is a unique experience. The view is great.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
