Hotel Amira was perfect for our family of 4 - including a 10 year old and a 7 year old - traveling to Istanbul for the first time for sightseeing in August 2023. We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel staff was excellent, everyone was gracious and helpful, most spoke excellent English, and communication prior to and after booking was great. We were in the family corner suite (rooms 702 and 703 connected), which was two separate rooms with their own bathrooms, connected by a private interior hallway. One of the rooms had a balcony with room enough for a small table and two chairs. The hotel had a terrific buffet breakfast included in the cost, which had enough options for our picky eater children! There were several other families with children staying at the hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet! We all slept soundly even though we were on a busy corner in a touristy neighborhood. The location of this hotel was outstanding… for first time Istanbul travelers, we highly recommend staying here. The hotel is a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Hippodrome, Harem Hammam, Topkapi Palace, Spice Market, and Grand Bazaar. It was also close to the ferry, on which we crossed to visit the Asia side one day. Given how bad traffic is throughout Istanbul, we really didn’t have to rely on cabs or multi-mode transportation to see all of the sights, although we did hop on the tram at the Sultanahmet stop to take us to further neighborhoods a couple of times. The best part about this hotel was the rooftop view of the water, the breathtaking sunsets, and the top of the Blue Mosque all lit up at night. Dinner and drinks up on the roof were excellent, too, and made for a great arrival evening. This is a great hotel for families and we’ll recommend it to any family and friends who plan to travel to Istanbul.

I chose this hotel because it had loads of positive reviews. My first time in this town and I didn't know what to expect. I found the room, hotel and rooftop bar/restaurant very clean. COVID is taken seriously at this location, w hand sanitizer avail, masks, cleaning and wiping down continuously. Towels changed every day! Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff to your every concern -- thank you gentlemen. Loved the rooftop bar and restaurant. Food service prompt e muito delicioso. (I recommend the local Cabernet Sauvignon and local beer offered. Spot on.) At night after a long day on the streets, Roman and Byzantine ruins, and Bazaar I enjoyed a few rounds of Johnny Walker Scotch and a Cuban cigar in the fresh air of the rooftop bar watching the moonlight shine off the Marmara Sea. Felt like a million bucks. The hotel location is minutes away from the iconic Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosques. If you prefer not to hike, there is a taxi stand across the street. Private car not necessary. Great place to bring your BFF, or spouse and family. Respectfully, PA

We stayed here for one night and the hotel was definitely quaint on the outside but royalty on the inside. The customer service was excellent and the room was spacious, clean, and had all necessary amenities. Also, it was a nice touch that water was provided for free (as you can't drink the tap water in Istanbul which is quite surprising). The buffet breakfast was fabulous and included healthy, fresh Turkish ingredients. Even the butter was made fresh and supplied and you could order fresh Turkish Gozleme on request. One of us was gluten free and bread was supplied on request. Overall, a very good experience. We would have rated the hotel 5 stars, however, the slow wi-fi (it had a bad reception/connection - maybe it was just our room?) reduced this review to 4 stars. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Istanbul.

I was extremely happy with the service and accommodations at Hotel Amira. Arriving late after a 14 hour flight, it was a lovely place to land. I was greeted with offerings of a beverage and the reception staff took time to sit down with me to provide information on the area. The rooftop bar was spectacular to sit and admire the views over the Sea of Marmaris and the minarets of the Blue Mosque. It’s a ten minute walk to Sultanahmet tram station, making sightseeing a breeze. The buffet breakfast was delicious and included a woman making traditional gozleme to order. I stayed in a standard room that provided everything I needed with plenty of room and specialty toiletries like hand made soap and keses. My bed was top notch. I found it extremely comfortable which I rarely find in a hotel. Even with jet lag, I slept like a baby. When I return to Istanbul next week, I look forward to calling Hotel Amira home again. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and spoke excellent English. When the shutdown was announced, they assured me they would assist me ordering meals in though I left Istanbul before the new Rule’s took effect. They had exceptional safeguards in place for Covid including temperature checks, hand sanitizer, touchless door openers (just wave your hand in front of it) and sterilization. I would highly recommend.

I spent 4 nights at Amira Hotel in April 2021. During the pandemics all the sanitary measures are respected by this property. I really loved the location in the very heart of the touristic center of Istanbul, 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, 10 minutes walk to the tram station. The embankment of the Marmar Sea is just near by.
The hotel has a gorgous roof top tarrace with the spectacular views to the sea and the city.
I loved the traditional breakfast including gozelme, Turkish pastry with fillings of your choiced freshly baked infront of you!
My room was absolutely amazing, large, nicely decorated and it had a large balcony providing the sea view.
Amira hotel has a fitness room as well.
The hotel staff was very helpful and welcoming. They helped me to order flowers on Sunday morning when all the shops were closed. They arranged a PCR-test in my room for the departure; helped to get stamps for my post cards; booked me a hammam and always provided with all the necessary information about the city attractions, transport etc.
I absolutely loved Amira hotel and certainly will be back again!
Thanks to all the team for my pleasant stay!

The hotel is located in the Sultanahmet district close to all the main attractions with lots of restaurants nearby. Room was extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. It's location is perfect and walking distance to the main attractions but still quiet enough to get peaceful rest and sleep. Amazing views from the rooftop bar and fantastic breakfast selection. Excellent hospitality and service! All the staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly. Cannot get over how warm and lovely they all are at Amira. They really take the time and effort to ensure their guests have the best experience in Istanbul with lots of helpful tips and show genuine care for all their guests. The best service ever! Highly recommend Amira Istanbul.

My friend and I booked this last year and were a bit worried coming to Istanbul due to Corona virus but this hotel made you feel very safe with all their precautions , they have even changed the air con so it’s personal to your room ! It’s an excellent location about 10 minutes walk to the main sites like the blue mosque and has a lovely roof terrace for breakfast and drinks with a great view . All the staff are very friendly and so helpful , especially Vollkan on reception . He went out of his way to recommend tours, map routes and restaurants and they were all spot on
Don’t hesitate to come here

We stayed at the Amira in June, 2021 for four nights. We’ve stayed there several times before.

The location just down the hill from the Arasta Bazaar, the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque is excellent; a ten minute walk, and a fifteen minute walk from the Sultanahmet tram stop.

The rooms are nice, clean, quiet and reasonably priced. The included Turkish breakfast buffet is just as you would expect. Quite adequate.

But the big plus is the staff. They are friendly, helpful and efficient. Sam, at the front desk reception is their super star.

When my wife somehow lost the rubber tip to her cane, Sam located a medical supply mall miles away, called them to be sure they had the product I was looking for and insured that I would be taken care of when I got there (there was no English spoken there), put me into a taxi and gave the driver specific instructions about where I needed to go, and even gave me his personal Istanbul Card transit pass so I could take the tram back without a hassle.

His restaurant recommendations were flawless. He called Fine Dining Istanbul to be sure they were open (many were not because of Covid) and had them send a car and driver to pick us up and bring us back, and it was complimentary.

On another occasion he chastised a taxi driver who tried to over charge us. And he booked private transportation to the airport at a price that was lower than the price quoted on the internet. So to the owners and managers of the Amira I hope you are reading this and are rewarding Sam appropriately. He is a gem.

Yes, we recommend the Amira without hesitation and will stay there again in the future.

This is an unbiased review of Amira hotel.

1.Location: The hotel is located in the most historic part of the city, literally 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sofya and Blue Mosque as well as the Sultanahmet tram station which is all that you need to move through the busiest parts of Istanbul.
The neighbourhood is very busy but not loud and annoying, very very safe even at late night, in front of the hotel are plenty of cabs anytime of the day.

2.Staff: The staff is truly the heart of this hotel. From the guys at the reception front , to the breakfast service staff, the cleaners, the restaurant staff.I was amazed by the level of professionalism shown, the knowledge, the genuine smiles, the allocated -no rush time you were given by the staff and the detailed suggestions to help us organise our trip better. We travel a lot and to be honest its a very rare find.

3.Rooms: We stayed at the top floor in room 801 which is a deluxe room with balcony.Beware, all rooms in Istanbul are tiny, do not believe anything you see.I was surprised to see that the room was even bigger in real life, literally 35 sqm which is way more than enough for 2 people( we stayed for 3 nights).
The room is bright, with a classic-classy style, the bed is amazingly comfortable and crisp.
Cleanness of the room is more than spot on, you could smell the linen and the bathroom was shiny.
The balcony is adequate and overlooks a part of the city and the small Haghia Sofya church, providing wonderful sunsets.
What’s most important is that the room is so quiet, you can’t hear anything once the doors shut, and heavy curtains allowing you to sleep deep and well.

4.Breakfast: To be honest, this was the freshest food we ate during our 12 days trip in total.
Everyday fresh items, the best scrambled i had in a hotel for years, organic honey in the comb, organic butter, delicious coffee, great variety of cheeses and cold cuts.
The buffet is being refilled by the staff non stop and they tirelessly try to make your breakfast experience amazing.

Overall, i wish i could rate the hotel even higher, it’s a true oasis in Istanbul, we will surely come back.
If you are looking to travel and have proper peace of mind to enjoy the beautiful Istanbul, well look no more.
Lots of love from Greece, see you again soon.

The rooms are spacious and neat. But like I said the outstanding features are the staff and location.
Extremely good advice and cautions handed out for the newbie traveler to Istanbul. The location was within walking distance to most of the important sites or within walking distance of the tram.

WiFi during our stay was consistent throughout the property so I would expect that to be the case. As for hair dryers, that, too, should be no problem. Our visit was during the early spring so no need for A/c, but I believe that each of the rooms is equipped with air conditioning. You could message them directly for more details.
