As a frequent traveller, I always try to test different experiences. For me, the best option to have amazing experiences is staying in a boutique hotel. My stay at Hotel Amira has brought me feeling that I didn't feel for a long time, I felt at home, in the heart of an amazing city, with all the facilities and at... More

Loved this cute, little hotel! All the rooms are unique and this was actually two residences that were combined into one when the new owners bought the properties and merged them. The wonderful breakfasts are served downstairs in their large dining room. Even gluten-free and veggie options are available. So thoughtful! The staff everywhere was super nice and helpful --... The other reviews say it all. Can't say no more. Can't wait to be back at Amira. This from someone who stayed at Ritz Sultanahmet in the previous trip! Money very well spent if chose to stay here. We went for a room with a balcony on the top floor. Location, fantastic, a stone throw away from all the main... More

We stayed a week at Hotel Amira and I can honestly say I have never dealt with nicer, more helpful and genuinely friendly people. Every recommendation, whether for a restaurant, bar or view, was spot on and they always went above and beyond with anything you need. That is the main reason I would stay there again. The location is... More

The graciousness and friendly welcome offered, even before our arrival, was outstanding. Equally gracious was the hotel's understanding when we had to cancel our booking, because our cruise ship changed the itinerary and won't be visiting Istanbul in early September. We will definitely stay at the Hotel Amira during a future visit to Istanbul.

Once you have experienced this hotel you will not want to stay anywhere else. We chose it because of the great reviews and were not disappointed. Customer service is outstanding. We had prearranged a pick up from the airport and this worked well and would recommend as it takes the hassle out of having to find transport. The hotel is... More

The staff made us feel staying in a lovely home. Everything was excellent, from the door, the reception, the waiters and not least, to the woman who cleaned our room, 404. Ufuk, AJ and Fatih were extremely helpful and kind, making us feel like home. The hotel is conveniently located, at walking distance from the very centre of Sultanahmet. Rooms were very comfortable and impecable. We specially enjoyed teatime when coming back in the afternoon, with traditional Turkish tea and delicious pastries. Lovely terrace

This is a very special hotel in a great location. This was by far the best hotel we have stayed in Istanbul and probably one of the best my wife and I have ever stayed in. We were met at the hotel by a manager, Fatih was so very friendly, polite and informative, a credit to the hotel. All the... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
