Chose this hotel due to the location, as it's very near to the historic buildings of sultanahmet. Morning breakfast added bonus. Staff were very helpful. Very nice roof terrace for late afternoon tea.

We were lucky to book Seraglio easily as the tourist season was pretty low. The atmosphere, decorated clean rooms and breakfast were very delightful. The lication of the hotel is superb. The only disadvantage is the lack of rooftop with Bosphorus view. I missed it a bit!

The staff, facilities and location were excellent. The reception staff, Kenan, Dinar and Yusuf were exceptional and kitchen staff were very welcoming and all our needs were always catered for. I was travelling with my husband and 5 year old son and Istanbul was as safe as any place in the world I would always stay at this hotel!

We stayed there from December 29 to January 2. The hotel is located in the Sultanahmet district, which is the historic place to visit. The service is excellent. People are very very helpful and attentive. Only 100m away from the Blue Mosque and Ayasofia church. Anyway, if you planned to visit Istanbul, i hardly recomend the Seraglio Hotel.

My husband, 14 year old son and I stopped in Istanbul for three days on route from UK to Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. I booked Hotel Sergalio because at the time it was very cheap and in a great central location for the Sultanahmed part of the city (10 minutes walk to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and just a...

We actually booked the hotel next door but apparently they were overbooked and sent us here instead. The room was amazing! We had a great terrace with a fantasist view of the Blue Mosque and the hotel was walking distance to all the sights. Con: I think I left my favorite sunglasses there and when I emailed them I never...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
