We stayed at this hotel in 2011. The hotel is at a great location, walking distance from Istikal Street & Galata Tower. The Sheshane metro station is also close by and a good landmark. The Suite rooms are comfortable and the "Big Chef" restaurant serves delicious food to the guests staying at the hotel. The hotel staff is very curteous... More

We stayed in a suit for a week. It was very roomy, very clean, and good views. The AC worked very well. The staff was perfect. They were very helpful, but did not try to push tourist packages on you like other places I have stayed in Istanbul. The car parking is free, secure, and valet. English is hit or... More

We booked a suite since my father-in-law would be staying with us during our time in Istanbul, and this worked out to be a good option (really loved the location to walk into the Sultanamet district yet away from the craziness in the evenings). The room with the main bed was comfortable for two and the pull-out couch in the... More

Reading all the reviews I was bit scared of the airco and the size of the standard room, but our stay in Tunel Residence was very good, much better than we expected. Here's a short summary. Room: okay, it's not enormous, but for 2 persons and 2 bags it's manageable. The room itself is beautiful and it has a small... More

We stayed here for 20 days. Excellent location, good facilities, small and neat boutique hotel. Galata tower, Istiklal Street, Shishane metro station, Funicular line, tram line, supermarket, cafes, clubs everything is just walking distance. Most of the other tourist attractions are also near by. Good place to enjoy your vacation. Regular housekeeping was good and helpful. Hotel also have a... More

We have a Junior suite for a week at Tunel residence. The location is perfect, our room has a nice view of Galata tower, Istiklal street is few steps from the hotel, Shishane station is front of the hotel door. The area have everything you might need i.e. supermarkets, cafes, resturants, clubs. The hotel has a pool, nice resturant, massage... More

This hotel had a beautiful spa area. Our room was tiny and dark--we got one with an ugly non-view--but the bed was super comfortable!! And it was elegant in its tiny ways. Like the tiny bathroom was really pretty and clean, even though it was for tiny people. I think if this hotel had a lobby to sit in, it... More

WE HAD A HORRIFIC / TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Please read before booking! We booked TWO deluxe suites: - The Air conditioner did not work, and we slept in a warm room!! - The wireless didn't work for three days, and on repeated complaints, i was told that my devices must be malfunctioning! Finally they fixed it. - WE HAD A THEFT... More

Pros: good location, indoor pool/sauna/hamam Cons: - Very small rooms -Extremely poor customer service: We complained about our air conditioning unit which was too loud and prevented us from sleeping and asked for a better room or free breakfast. Instead of being friendly and trying to accomodate our request, the hotel manager told me that this is a residence, not... More

The Hotel could have had an excellent rate, but the room was just too small and it had a tiny window so I felt like I was a bit in prison when I was in our room. Also 80,- euro's charge for a massage is too much. The restaurant next door is good, but just around the corner you'll pay... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
