Here's a list of why: Reception staff do not even give eye contact, with masks on you can't even tell if he is giving you his attention or busy doing his/her thing. No AC, the heater is on the whole time so either turn off the heater or open windows in a really noisy area . and you cannot change your clothes in the room because you need to keep the curtens open so you can have a breath in the room . beds are very very un comfortable at all and its not straight at all so you feel that you are falling on the sides of the bed pellows are very bad and seems like they washed them in the washing machine so it turned on like a bunch of cotton balls which causes you a neck pain . shelf looks dirty as alot of marking. toilet is a different story , the door handle came off while closing the door so you cannot close the door

It was while walking that we discovered The Tunnel Hotel. Located in the beautiful city of Galata with 1 minute walk to the metro and 5 minutes to the Galata Tower. We were warmly welcomed by Mehmet at the hotel. His professionalism and know-how immediately made us decide to stay at this hotel. His friendliness reflected the beauty of the country and of course of the establishment. Our room, upstairs is with a modern decor and everything necessary for optimal comfort with a French balcony. On the 9th floor, in the restaurant with a spectacular view of the port and the surrounding area. This hotel also has a spacious, massage, steam room and indoor swimming pool. We highly recommend this establishment for its professionalism, hospitality, comfort and cleanliness. We look forward to returning. Thank you again Mehmet. Pascal and Hans - Mauritius

Arrived following massive delays at the airport 4am met by the staff who completely ignored me as the female main booking and kept talking to my younger brother, even after I paid and asked questions they replied and directed all answers to my younger brother. Then taking us to junior suite even though after saying to us how we managed to get such a deal for the deluxe suite. When we got to the room we explained it looked different to the photos online they lied and said that’s what we booked. I bring my booking prints and make a complaint then they told us our suite is not ready due to the delays at the airport and people had flight cancelled. How deceitful of them. We ended up staying in the junior suite for the night given how late and how exhausted we were - it’s now 5:30am. The suite was not clean, bathroom shower was broken, floor was wet… mess! Then the next morning 10am we get a call that our deluxe suite is ready and as an apology they offer us breakfast. I didn’t want breakfast, I don’t have breakfast and it was a reason we didn’t include with the room. Staff were not helpful in anyway. Charged me the full price and refused to compensate me for this mess up and deceitful act. When I challenges them they acted as their english is not good enough to understand me. I sadly won’t recommend them, location was good and cleaning staff were excellent, it’s what made my stay bearable. But receptionists and manager were very unhelpful. I won’t be staying there again and told all my friends & colleagues who recommended this hotel. AC was not working, desk was broken, in deluxe suite I had to request mugs and glasses for tea and drinks. How come they are not in place on arrival. Very disappointing. I go to Istanbul twice a year for 2 weeks each time. You lost a customer.

The employees are very friendly and good. Receptionist try their best to help. But sadly in the past 3 days the AC is not working !! The temperature outside is exceeding 30 degrees and the room temperature is 28 from the heat ! We have been trying to call someone to fix it and for 3 days the answer we get is it’s a general problem ! Nothing has changed at all.

Came to Istanbul for a break and stayed at the tunel residence. The hotel is really nice and cosy. The rooms are good, very clean and up to date. The staff are very nice, helpful and friendly. It's a great location and don't be afraid to use the rail and tram systems as they are excellent. The bar/restaurant in the hotel is very nice and popular. The food I had in there was spot on. Great hotel overall and would definitley stay again. Turkey never fails to impress lovely people, culture and country. Thank you all.

The front desk staff were excellent....Sinan was one of the most helpful, and nicest people I have met. He is a great asset for this property. The rooms were good. Not large, but perfectly adequate for our one night stay and were clean and had all the amenities we needed. Location was excellent. Great restaurant that goes from the foyer through.

I stayed for 6 nights at this hotel. I had a single room with one child. The room was very small but it was enough for me. The place is clean and view showed the next street only. It was on the fourth floor. A tv was available: main channels were turkish ones but you can also find a channel for kids (turkish language) and english and arabic news channels. Everyday the hotel offers a big bottle of water, coffee and turkish black tea bags, shower gel and shampoo in addition to a small soap. Slippers and clean towels are available. The rest if my family reserved a small appartement, it has a big bedroom, a big toilet, a living room with a kitchen table and a small kitchen that has everything u need. The appartement was clean. A small view to the Bosphoros can be seen from the tiny balcony. Free wifi was available and the staff were very friendly.

Booked in for 4 nights. Regretted this pretty much immediately. Lights blowing when turned on, toilet continuously flushing, barman splashed water on me whilst at the bar after having waited 15 minutes to order a meal and a drink. Next night, wait staff gave me the menu then disappeared. No restaurant manager to deal with staff. When I did speak to the front desk staff member the waiters stood there laughing. Sales Manager completely unhelpful (thank you Funda). Meal Orders taken then forgotten. cutlery, salt and pepper left from the order. Phone was not working so had to keep going up and down to get anything. I asked to speak with the Manager but apparently he does not show up to work before 11 am (I was told because he has traffic problems!), I was also told he would speak with me the next day. He didn't show up but apparently he is very sorry about the situation. There are much better hotels in the area, I strongly suggest you stay elsewhere.
