It has been almost a year since we were in Turkey and I still think about our stay there and our time at the Rast Hotel. We had so much fun! The staff was super helpful, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was amazing-- I honestly think that was my husband's favorite part of the whole trip! Sevgi and Hazal took really good care of us every morning and made our day start out very special. We stayed in the Bosphorus Suite and loved it. Our balcony had an amazing view of all the wonderful landmarks, including the Blue Mosque. We loved sitting on the balcony, enjoying tea and lokum (Turkish delight) after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is located perfectly to walk to most everything we wanted to see. Will definitely return one day!
We had a wonderful 5 days in Istanbul! Check-in was fast and efficient. The rooms were fine - had a refrigerator and kettle- and the beds were good. Getting in and out of the tub/shower would be a challenge for older guests. Sevgi' (sp?) and the other staff did a great job at breakfast. Coffee could be better and scrambled eggs would be nice, but that's the American in me coming out! Spent our last night drinking a glass of wine on the hotel terrace with the view of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and the Bosphorus! Unforgettable.
The hotel is located in a little street that crosses a bigger one, where you can find T1 Tram Line (one of the main lines that takes you basically to the main touristic places). This street is lively, full of restaurants and little shops to buy souvenirs (currency exchange offices are there as well). The area is generally full of typical restaurants and pastries. Then, most importantly, the hotel is at walking distance from the main places to visit: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque (at the time of this review it is under restoration, unfortunately) Topkapi Palace and the Cistern. For all the rest, tramway is there. As for the hotel, it's well structured and rooms are comfortable. Maybe bathrooms could be renewed a bit. Room clean up is not fantastic: they tide up the room but floors are not vacuumed properly. Breakfast is nice and you have different choices. It's at the 6th floor and you have a wonderful view over the city and the sea. Special thanks to Batuhan and to Sengi at the breakfast floor. Sengi was always very nice and she was always ready to help with a smile. One point of which I was not happy was the fact that the building next to the hotel was having some works done and noise during the day was really annoying in the rooms. Finally, I recommend this hotel is you wish to be very close to main historical places to visit.…
I stayed at the Rast Hotel, the stay was lovely, the service was amazing, the staff were so helpful and friendly, (especially Sevgi & Hazal), was so welcoming That too it is amazing to have breakfast in the trace with a great view of Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque
I travelled on my own and not on any organised tour—i always felt safe and connected as I wandered, talked and watched life around me. At the Rast Hotel, one is surrounded by amazing historical places —Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, little Aya Sofia, bazaars, great restaurants, trams, park, tour buses —marvellous. But, it is the people that you meet and share ideas and experiences with that make the difference. In the hotel, the staff were so helpful and friendly, making you feel part of the whole experience of Istanbul. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, the staff (especially Sevgi), were always willing to help you make the very best of your stay—thank you!
