All the hotels in this area are within walking distance of the main historic attractions, however, they all seem smaller than we expected. Amber hotel is extremely clean, the bathrooms have been renovated, the breakfast hall has amazing views (and the food is quite nice!). All the staff were friendly, accommodating and discreet. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
We began our trip to Turkey in Istanbul and since we had not planned it welo we blindly chose amber hotel. This was the best coincidence ever. We had seen some of the reviews from the past but I must say that they were wrong in my humble opinion. We were cautious since this was a country that was new to both my wife and I and because of the covid era had change our plans from honeymooning in Thailand to Turkey. Things happen for a reason and this was a prime example. The people in this hotel care about one thing only....making your experience great. Yakup the king of the night was the reason that we chose to end our 17 day trip around turkey back with Amber hotel..... the man is trustworthy caring and has the most energy that I have seen in a long time....he is a blast. He also went out of his way to help us get in contact with Ozge from wanderlust travel she helped us relax by helping us organiza a trip around turkey in less time than it would have taken me to login to my computer back home......she knows Turkey and fit the itinerary to our likes and dislikes.....Yakup thank you.....can’t wait to come back to Istanbul and visit so we can meet again. If your in Istanbul and looking for a great stay and one that is trustworthy this is the place....we felt like if something happened to us in Istanbul we could call Yakup and he would move mountains to help us.…
The hotel and staff were absolutely amazing especially yakup so accommodating and took care of us from start to finish amazing view from terrace as well as room was so spacious and elegant I recommend anyone to stay here was nothing but an amazing experience.
This is by far a fraudulent advertisement of the hotel. The pictures are perhaps a decade old and the premises is disgusting. The staff who served us laughed and said oh well you have paid. I did not even have the energy to argue we left within 15 minutes. My only regret not taking pictures of the hotel. No refund or solution offered rather a threatening email response. Booking.com disgustingly played no role in supporting a regular customer or looked into this. This hotel had dusty rooms and old furniture far from 3 stars definitely a hostel with the lads not fit for family visits. The whole experience was awful. Please save your money and avoid this hotel. The location is 15 -20 minute walk from main area but amongst the back end which is very rough. Me and my pregnant wife booked this to find it was unsuitable we was given a coffin box room with dirty sheets despite an email request prior to attendance that my wife was pregnant. A solution another room was offered which was just as worse. If you have asthma this will kill you. Awful experience and appalling customer care. The mere fact hotel staff laughed in my face as I stated the pictures on the website do not reflect the hotel. The staff laughed and said “oh well you paid” we had to find alternative accommodation. Awful experience please be warned. Do not take your family or loved ones. This would be ideal for lads holiday rough get a few bed bugs and dirty sheets and be greeted with abuse and treated like a animal.…
Good hotel, rooms nice and clean with all the facilities you need! WiFi is fast and reliable not like some places in Turkey. Breakfast has a good variety. Central location to get everywhere you need to go. Halil one of the staff there is fab 👍
When we arrived at this downtown hotel, we were informed that the rooms, which we paid for two months in advance, were no longer available due to overbooking. They offered another hotel at some distance. It was not nice for 31st December!
calming and relaxed stay, simpatique personel, friendly and wery welcome! cleaning every day. amazing wiew from the breakfast room. the best spa, massage, sauna. good service and respect from the receptionists!
I went to Istanbul for a holiday and stayed at this hotel the hotel itself is good the staff are excellent and went out of their way to accommodate us as the firm I had booked through had given us a double room with a bed added on which made the room too small for 3 of us the first night we thought we were gna die of suffocation but thankfully we spoke to nisim the next day who moved us to a spacious room for three ppl - nisim and the rest of the staff were great - but the location of the hotel was terrible as it was very dusty and grimey I actually lost my voice for few days - I would highly recommend the hotel but not the location fair enough it’s close by to everything but would rather pay that little bit extra to travel out than to have stayed in that location - I chose this hotel based on ppls reviews but no one had mentioned the location issues -…
The worst hotel ever in Istanbul and in the world. I bookEd a room for two people 2 month before the trip and when i arrived there they give me a horrible room with two single bed. When i sayed that i want a room with only one bed they say me “i can’t chance your room i can only bring the two beds closer together “.So i didn’t stay there one second more, i booked another room in a different hotel and i sleept there for all Night that i stayed in Istanbul. The Staff is rude and unkind.
Pros: - good staff. so kind and helpful. The service staff do not speak English but they are ready to give you a hand. - well speed WiFi - breakfast was buffet and I had enough choices - the terrace restaurant - comfortable beds - TV and enough facilities in the room (except for iron that you have to ask them) - many restaurants in the street (both reasonable and chic) - easy to access by Havaist buses. only 20 min walk. - within walking distance to the attractions Cons: - you can not open your window at all, as the street is full of noisy cars. but you can have sleep with close windows - they serve breakfast at 7. If you have an appointment in the morning, you can not have your breakfast. Because due to the bad driving habits and huge traffics in the city, you are obliged to leave the hotel soon (for example appointment for 9 am on a not close location). It would be much better for people like me to have breakfast 30 min sooner. - in their guide book in the room, it is said that we will do your laundry and you should only put your cloths in the basket. But when I asked them, they said they do not offer this option any more and instead I had to go to the laundry next to the hotel. - their refrigerator and the locket were not good enough. Maybe I had to ask them for descriptions. - the restaurant does not offer dinner at nights, but I wanted to have my own dinner at the terrace on the roof. when I went there, it was totally dark. Maybe they have to allow their guests to have an enjoyable experience at the terrace during all the hours. Overall: The Amber hotel would be a good choice if you do not wish to spend much money on your accommodation but also you'd like to to be convenient enough. So it suits your purposes. But personally speaking, it would not be reasonable to book the expensive rooms offered by the hotel. Just go for the cheapest one and you would definitely have a pleasant stay. Many thanks to the staff and hotel. :)…
