My husband and I spent a few days here during our honeymoon. It was great! Great location, super friendly staff, who went above and beyond (pretty sure Ismail the front desk guy does not sleep. He was there for us all the time, whether we were coming or going.) beautiful hotel, and the most comfortable bed I have ever had....

- I was in Istanbul for 5 days between the attack at the airport and the coup. Many people tried to dissuade me from going but my stay at Hotel Darussade made everything worthwhile. I cannot compliment and recommend this hotel enough. It is a charming small hotel wonderfully located in Sultanhemet. The bedroom faced the Blue Mosque and breakfast...

We traveled from US and stayed at the hotel for 5 days in early June. It was a wonderful experience overall. Staff, especially Ismail, was very helpful and made sure that we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is very conveniently located within a few minutes walk of Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. It is also close to train/tram station....

My mother and I stayed here during our mini-break in Istanbul. I had been to Istanbul before, but my mother had not. The location of the hotel was perfect - we were literally within easy walking distance of everything worth seeing in the old city. Furthermore, the hotel itself is lovely and our room was comfortable and clean as could...

We loved our stay at this hotel. Although a difficult time to travel, we braved Istanbul and loved our stay. The hotel is beautifully situated and staff are friendly and eager to help. Breakfasts on the roof are a delight! We can highly recommend this jewel in Istanbul.

(Hi Ayhan and Ismail!) I am a single female traveler in my 20s from Canada. I stayed at Darussaade for the entirety of my leisure trip to Istanbul in May. Let's start with the building: Istanbul has a lot of beautiful buildings and landscapes, and Darussadde completely fits in. It's visually ornate, super pleasing to look at and stay in....

I've been there for 3 nights and ist was a really pleasant stay. Besides the good location the rooms are perfectly clean, we enjoyed the roof terrace at night and there was a super reception service. I spent 7 nights at the Darussaade in May 2016. I thought the hotel was in an excellent location, just a short walk from the Blue mosque. The staff were always friendly and helpful especially Ismail. The hotel is an older style timber building, lots of character and the rooftop restaurant was a very pleasant way to start the day...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
