Stayed at this hotel Mid July 2016. We arrived one day late as our flights were delayed and were given a good welcome. Staff at the hotel were very helpful, explained the local routes, local attractions and handed out to us a map explaining nearby location. Room was spotless and first class. We had to double up single beds though... More

We stayed at Maywood hotel in Istanbul from 11-18 July, the hotel itself was located at the centre of Istanbul with loads of shops surrounding the hotel, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming to everyone, rooms were very clean and the breakfast was amazing it started from 8-10 am. on our last day we left the hotel at... We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, the staff was very helpful (we can park our scooter in the hotel garage for free). The breakfast was perfect - very good choice of different vegetable. The room was OK (some small problems - one night lamp did not work, bad doors of minibar - we said about it in the... More

I'm so glad we chose to stay at the Maywood while in Istanbul. You couldn't ask for friendlier or more helpful staff! They were very accommodating and took great care of us. We had a twin room with a balcony facing the street. It was very clean and well kept. There was free tea and coffee and optional items for... More

I stayed 4 nights from Jun 25 to Jun 30 2015 at room 310.the room does not have any special view but we could open the window and let some fresh air in which was great. the location is perfect .you can access the hotel via Golhana Tram station or Sirkeci tram station.I personally prefer Sirkeci Station because it takes... The hotel have all that you may need and the most important that make feel well: cordiality. Good personnel is the key and if to know Istambul is what you look for then Maygood is in the correct place, just near to all main treasures of the city. Undoubtedly it was the best choice taken when we thought to visit... More

This is a quaint little hotel in a perfect location at the centre of Istanbul. 15 mins walk to to the hagia & blue mosque, grand bazaar and most other big attractions. It is not a modern hotel by any means and the rooms are very compact. the French windows open out to a small platform (not really big enough... More

The staff are super tentative, helpful and friendly. They offered great advise of tours and even gave me a scarf one night when we left the hotel and it was cold outside, without asking and without wanting anything in return. The staff always greeted friendly and there is someone at the front desk all the time. The breakfasts were just... More

What an amazing place. We were so happy with the hotel, mainly because of the staff. The rooms need attention. The basin tap in my room was loose, of the two wall lights above the beds only one had a shade, i didn't think the breakfast was great, my son said it was the best breakfast of our trip (3... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
