They had me move to 3 different rooms and lied about several things. Room 1 - With my special status with a particular booking agency, I was promised a room upgrade (if available), a bottle of wine upon arrival and such. None were offered. And the front desk guy told me it was NOT AVAILABLE. Shower door wouldn’t even close completely so water was all over the place. Their “rain shower” doesn’t even work. Room 2 - my check-in review motivated their General Manager to move me to a room with a working shower, so I guess upgrades were available after all - lie #1. Even though I was able to watch a particular English Channel in room #1, this second room satellite wasn’t working. Then GM began to blame the government blocking this American Network. Lie #2. I finally told him, after rudely cutting me off several times in our conversations, the network was available in my previous room. Room 3 - because the technical guy could not only figure out the reset the satellite system, he left the tv service completely disconnected. Therefore the GM moved me up to another less nicer room with working TV. It has a balcony, which allowed neighbors smoking smell to come into my room. At this point I could careless about the tv but they insisted. I packed up once again and went to the third room. When checking out, the same front desk guy who were quick to try signing me up on various suggested tours when I checked in, also wanted to assist me get a cab back to the airport. I came in Uber so I was to do the same. And.... all of the sudden Uber app is not working yet everything else on my iPhone is working. Clearly their Wi-Fi is blocking Uber and I asked him... he said no. So I disconnected their Wi-Fi and used my cellular service and boom! Uber is functioning right away. Last lie of the stay. Their four star may not be the 4-star standard we the Americans are used to in developing nations and so I can accept the difference. But what I will not accept is their lies and rudeness where the GM thinks he can talk over his customer the way he continued to do. They speak very good English, better than some of us Americans ha... so stop pretending to be confused when caught in lies. Just be honest and do not assume our intelligence and ability to figure out the lies. Speaking of which, their pictures do not tell the truth of the condition of the hotels either. Most Turkish people aren’t like them, they are hard working, kind, maybe a bit aggressive to American standard but they are just trying to make a buck. So it’s very disappointing that a few bad apples like those guys can make our travel experience so bad. This hotels main service guy who acted as a bell man as well as a restaurant server, who spoke very little English was a true gentleman and hard working, kind man - like so many other Turkish folks I met. It’s very unfortunate it’s the GM who is making me write this bad review.

Stayed here for a solo trip to Istanbul for a weekend in March and found this hotel to be excellent. Location wise is fantastic, close to all major sights on the European side of the city (blue mosque, grand bazaar etc), all forms of public transport within a 10 minute walk from the hotel as well. Quite literally 100s of restaurants within 5 mins walk. Room has all the basics you need: TV, A/C, tea and coffee, safe, minibar, and cleaned every day, although I found the housekeeping came too early for my liking (around 9 to 11) but this is just my personal preference as I like a lie in. Breakfast buffet had a excellent spread, and great range of drinks. Rooftop restaurant also excellent with amazing views of the city. Staff all very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much of a problem for them. Overall would highly recommend the Arden City!

The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good. Besides its location is perfect for visits to historical places. My favorite has been the Basilica Cistern I have also booked tours with help of reception, such as Bosphorus cruise and dinner cruise. . For any assistance you can ask the reception desk for help. I would strongly recommend this hotel for those who would like to visit İstanbul.
