Good location with lots of cafes and shops close by. Very friendly and nice staff, had problems with my first room and got it changed very quickly. Cool atmosphere in the lounge area, healthy breakfast. Only concern that its very cold at night as no heating and the windows are old and not well isolated.

Neverland hostel looks a bit alternative but if you can look beyond the graffiti and basement looking buildning, you have a very descent hostel! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. But they could do a better job with the cleaning.. beds are basic and rooms quite small. It is the cheapest option, so you get what you pay for! Breakfast is included...

It was fine at first, I was greeted at the door. Three men greeted me nobody helped me, a senior citizen, with a bad back, obviously exhausted to carry heavy bags (not many of them) up four flights of stairs. No elevator. They overcharged for one night when I was extremely short of cash it's getting better now a few...

Hostel vibe with a relaxed activist feel. Only criticism is that the rooms seem a little expensive for how simple they are. Very safe and clean with a very central location (but not too central). Walking distance from many attractions and the water.

We stayed at this hostel during whole week of our travel in Istanbul. It is located close to the tram station and in walking distance to Galata tower. The price for the room is reasonable and includes room and breakfast. Rooms are a bit colder if you go in winter but breakfast is well served and delicious. In the common...

I stayed here for 7 nights in December 2015. The staff were very relaxed and friendly and pleasant to deal with. The common area was nice and relaxing. Unfortunatley, i had trouble getting a good night sleep. I was on the 4th floor in a single room. There was alot of door banging from the other rooms (you had to...

Personnel were exquisite. Breakfast was incredible, free internet and rooms were sufficiently clean with lots of smart graffiti on the walls. Very alternative place, where it’s possible to meet incredible people from all the world. The lounge area offers the possibility to listen to your music and stay on very confortable sofas. I came back many many times when was...

The hostel is quite central, quite close to the Taksim street. The staff is really nice and helpful. The rooms are basic, but it was what we expected for 12eu per night. The nice suprise was breakfast which, apparently, is included in price.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
