First time I arrived to that hostel I felt warm as home. I meet people from around the world just few minutes I did the check-in and now I consider them my turkish family. People who work there are always kind and wants to help...More
A peaceful, sweet hostel.
The finest thing about it is this spectacular scenery. Furthermore, it's really cheap. The hostes is near Taksim Square, İstiklal, Karaköy. Don't forget to bring own beverages, towels, slippers etc. Because there is nothing except from bed, bathroom, air conditioner 😊
The hostel is in a superb location- really central, right next to Galata tower and loads of other cool stuff! The hostel itself was very clean, basic rooms with comfy beds. Only one bathroom on each floor but it was never a problem, if you...More
World House is as good an all-round hostel as I've stayed in. Everything was perfect - the location is amazing, right next to Galata tower, the food was plentiful and properly Turkish (breakfast is free, lunch is cheap), and the staff were all awesome! It...More

Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening
nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

Yes, very safe to walk alone day and night. But for a female traveler at night; I do not recommend it after the stores are closed. Very near to unlock transport; please also note that buses and metro stop after 1am till 5am depending on the day and train line. Enjoy and just use common sense; you will have a great time.
