Fantastic location, very welcoming staff ( AHMED & IMAD & MARK ) and an amazingly comfortable bed & The help we received from the front desk/concierge was most welcome. In heart of city within steps of lots of restaurants and cafes, tram stops outside and Yellow Bus tours just across the square. Thanks Ahmed Basha :) Greeting from Soufiane Morocco

I stayed in a few hostels in istanbul, this was the best. What makes this hostel is the host Achmet, nothing was too much trouble, he looked after me so well and was always happy to offer advice on the area. The breakfast was lovely. This hostel is in a great location, very close to Taksim square, but as its...

Located just down a sidestreet off Istiklal Cd which is the bustling centerpiece of Istanbul makes it pretty handy however you dont get much here beyond a bed. At 4 to a room the ratio is also decent. Mattresses look like they are from couches but they are comfy. There is no real sitting or common room beyond a small...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The rooms were spacious, cool, and clean. The staff were very helpful and polite, gave us great recommendations for restaurants nearby, and helped us plan our transport to the sights we wanted to see in Istanbul. The hostel's location is great - right next to Istiklal street in Taksim. Initially I wasn't...

I came here by chance, because I had to get out of my previous sweltering hostel... The owner, Ahmed, welcomedme iimmediately upon my arrival and allowed me to look at the rooms. They were beautiful abd refreshingly cool in the Turkish summer. Even though it was already evening, he was still able to find space for me in a very...

While the hostel's owner is incredibly personable, helpful, and kind, unfortunately the hostel barely lived up to the lonely planet hype. Staying in the large mixed dorm, there were two shared bathrooms, and perhaps the luck of roommates was not in our favor, but the cleanliness of the bathrooms was questionable. One toilet seat was broken, and one morning the...

Great location. Ahmad is keen to give advice to prevent scams. I reserved an air conditioned room for a one-night stay. When I asked for the a.c. remote, the staff member said the air conditioning was broken, and that in fact all the air conditioners in all the rooms were broken. The power was on and in fact the air...

I was there with an Erasmus+ project and it was a great stay! The location is great (right next to Istiklal Caddesi, the overcrowded and a hot spot for Istanbul's nightlife) and even though it is so central, the alley where the hostel is was quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep in the center of European Istanbul, next...

During my Model United Nations Conference at Deuche Schule (German School Istanbul), I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights. First I have to say that the location is the best because it is both close to the taksim square (which has various transportation opportunaties) and beyoglu/sishane (main district that you can go with following the Istiklal Street - the...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
