With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

An unassuming little hotel, perfectly located in the heart of the Sultanahmet tourist district. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, hippodrome, cistern, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, etc. Rooms are cozy, amenities clean and functional. Staff speak good English and can help with arranging tours if necessary.

Had one day layover on business. Friendly staff. Beautiful breakfast on rooftop terrace looking over Bosporus. Minutes from Hagia Sofia. Comfy rooms with thick cotton towels. Gotta be OK with stairs to get to breakfast.

We had an amazing stay at Osmanhan hotel. It was our second stay in 2 years, and we would definitely choose Osmanhan as our base in Istanbul again. It's a real small gem, perfectly located right by Arasta bazaar (Turkish style market) and Blue Mosque. The hotel has only 7 rooms, the owner Mustafa is a very kind and generous person, the stuff went above and beyond to make our stay great. We were greeted every morning by Mohammed Ali at the reception who was keen helping us, answering our questions, providing tons of useful information, and giving great recommendation for restaurants, transportation, sightseeing. Rooms are good size, spotlessly clean, loved my blanket! It has a minibar, electric kettle, tea/coffe, ironing board, a safety deposit box. Breakfast is very fresh, a lot of tasty Turkish cuisine varieties, dolma in grape leaves, black and green olives, local yogurt and white cheese, pie with soft cheese and spinach, it also has juices, omelettes, jams, etc. Breakfast area is on the rooftop, with a nice view on Marmara sea, and rooftops with seagulls resting there. Very good atmosphere, it was such a great stay! Thank you, Osmanhan owners and stuff for making our stay absolutely wonderful!
