After a long, long cycle across Europe I was glad to be able to have my own space, chill out, and eat lots of fattening Turkish food for a week; the Paris Hostel/Hotel suited me perfectly. The staff there were extremely helpful and always available with advice (for instance I had to dismantle my bike to be able to load... More

It was a pleasure to only have to walk to the main attractions of Istanbul. It's litterally a few minutes walking away from the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazar. The hotel is situated in a quiet street, our room was facing the street but frankly we did not complain about the noise. The room is rather small but you... More

The hospitality at this cozy hostel is exquisite and the location is perfection! It is near The Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and touristic restaurant strip. Paris Hostel is a humble place with a very cool underground bar that became our hot spot. Hookahs, costumes, a friendly bar tender for good company, and food & drink of course! There is no... More

This small cocy hostel, is worth to visit. I used it some years ago and so many things have changed for the better, Aircondition and new furnitures. The good manager Nevsat is still in charge and he is always kind to help you with everything. Just aske him. If don`t know, he will find out. The closed terrase in 6... More

A small lighted sign on a dark alley ushers you to this hotel. The interior is dark and damp. The stair leading to our room was narrow and treacherous. The carpert is all worn out. Our room though had clean sheets and comfortable pillows which accorded us a comfortable sleep. The breakfast is a buffet of bread, olives, boiled eggs,... More

The good: Rather central, situated in the old area of Istanbul. It is close to everything yet it is located on a very quiet street. There are some shops where you can get groceries and drinks but you also have some cafes nearby. The staff was helpful and friendly. The place has a very nice terrace on the top floor,... More

I spent one night in Istanbul Paris Hotel before leaving to South-West Turkey. I needed a hotel that is in the middle of Sultanahmet, serves buffet breakfast (more choices) and is reasonably priced. Although around Sultanahmet I could find even cheaper hotels I chose Paris Hotel because it is just next to Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), getting there is... More

I stayed in this place for nine days: 5 days and then again for 4 days In my first five days I was not advised by the receptionist about breakfast being served there which cost me in total around 35 Euros. This hostel is humble, clean and very well located. Most staff are friendly. It's a stone throw away from... More

Nice staff, great location (Close to Ortaklar, the best of the cheap restaurants in the area, by far!), modest, a little bit depressing decoration and breakfast. Bathroom ha no curtain to spearte the shower from the rest, and hot water is intermitent (I guess it depends on the number of people showering at the same time in the hotel). All... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
