Prime location (5 minutes walk from Sultanahmet), great buffet breakfast with a view, and unbeatable service at the reception. This hotel is absolute value for money. Highly recommended (esp. to those traveling on a budget but want everything)!

It has been an amazing experience staying at this small family run hotel. This is not a glitzy hotel but a very small hotel with about 8 rooms. It is clean and has all the basic facilities. There are small hiccups here and there as can be expected in a family run small hotel, but the owners - especially the... More

I'm at this hotel right now. It is very close to the famous areas with a nice view on Bosporus (from terrace). The staff is very friendly . Everyone try to do his best to make you happy. Ali and his brother ( reception guy) always give you instructions to enjoy your vacation and how to go to all places... More

I had to make a change to a reservation that was booked through Orbitz. These people were impossible to get in touch with and ultimately the reservation was completely lost because they couldn't answer the Orbitz's representatives calls. I called four times and then Orbitz in turn called them 4 times. All 4 times they kept saying the manager wasn't... More

The hotel is good value, the rooms are small but clean. The shower was amazingly powerful and hot. The staff and the breakfasts (with a great view of the Bosphorus) couldn't be better. For a no-frills, cheap place to sleep it is fantastic

Stayed 7 nights. Great location we walked everywhere, our room was cleaned everyday, daily breakfast was included plus received one way free airport transfer. Not much variety with the breakfast you pretty much get the same stuff everyday.

Very close to the big attractions in Istanbul and close to a tram stop. Plenty of affordable eating options nearby and the breakfast is sufficient. Room was a little small but fine for the two of us, staff were friendly and helpful although some spoke very little english

I have been staying in Meddusa Hotel 3 times from 2011. In fact, I haven't tried any other hotels in Istanbul. The hotel is beautifully located: very close to Grand Bazar, Sultanahmed square and other historical places of Istanbul. It has great view from the top floor where they serve breakfast. The price of rooms is nothing in comparison to... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
