Excellent hotel - pricey but excellent
I think the first thing you have to say about the Four Seasons Bosphorus is that the service is impeccable from beginning to end. Everything inside the hotel is impeccable. Your room is cleaned at least 3 times a day. I went in November, so the pool was obviously closed. The gym is great, the spa is incredible (Make sure you do a treatment called MLX i3 Therapy) that makes you sweat the equivalent of 20km of running. It enhances your immune system, helps to burn fat, increases blood circulation detox the body and helps to rejuvenate and remove wrinkles if you do the full 45 min with facial included. The cost is 150 euros and you can do every other day. The breakfast is definitely one of the highlights. The food is delicious and the staff very attentive. The restaurants outside are great (make sure you stay at one of the cozy Igloos to the right side). They have a great wine selection: Speak with Sommelier Fatih Kaplan, very kind guy. I do have one consideration: If you're looking to be emerged into the Turkish culture, this hotel will not do it for you. You're just staying at a nice palace at Bosphorus with water view. Despite of the great views, it feels like any Four Seasons in the world. Want a taste of Turkey? Go to four seasons hotel istanbul at sultanahmet. That's my opinion - however, there's no reason to not rate this hotel as "excellent".

The best choice of hotel with view and infinity pool at Bosphorus
Located in a historic building (Atik Pasha Palace) built in the second half of the 19th century, the hotel received us with an upgrade (from the room overlooking the park to one with a private balcony overlooking the Bosphorus). We were sorry that we left the hotel to dine at a restaurant on the shores of the Bosphorus because our private balcony offered a much more beautiful view over the Bosphorus and a special feeling of intimacy (no other neighbors of the terrace, other balconies, etc.) Although it is not an opulent hotel, it is an extremely refined one, with a perfect good taste. We were greeted with a basket of fruit, fresh macarons, baclavas, the minibar contained various drinks (price in euros). The cosmetics provided by the hotel (shower gel, body lotion, etc.) are of the highest quality. Assorted marble everywhere, including the pool. The pool is quite large, good for swimming, only that the space is not very generous, it is crowded (but not to an annoying extent). Vessels transiting the Bosphorus can be seen quite closely, which is less common. Sitting on a sun lounger or swimming seeing moving boats and yachts is a special sensation. The umbrellas can move to provide shade for the sunbed, there are several spaces like a tent where you benefit from shade and privacy, you can eat at the pool or on the terrace next door. Although a wedding took place in the space next to the pool, until the end of the beach program (7 pm) we were not bothered by the guests, music, etc. The atmosphere at the pool is great (relaxing music), as throughout the hotel, the staff is extremely attentive in general. You don't have to wait to place an order at all, as if you can't wait to open your mouth to ask yourself what you need, I have rarely found such services in hotels. The entire attitude of the management and staff is dedicated to the client, the guest, everything to feel wonderful. We chose an a la carte breakfast instead of paying for the breakfast buffet (it is not very varied, I did not see cakes, but it has everything you need) which proved to be an inspired choice because I had a sensational Turkish breakfast on terrace. Although I only stayed one day and could not explore the whole hotel, what I saw and how we felt there, as well as the same excellent impressions received from a friend who has been several times makes me consider him excellent .

    Safety conscious luxury
I stayed at the hotel amidst the pandemic and it was a pleasant escape from an otherwise very strange global situation. The hotel went to greater lengths than any leading hotel I have seen in London or Paris to ensure safety. EVERYTHING is disinfected, even the prayer mats! (See attached). I would like to thank Fuat Ensari in Guest Relations for making sure I was looked after from the moment I stepped foot inside the property, Eren from the pool for his professionalism and attentiveness, Arkan, Alper and Gonnen in reception and the most warm of thanks to Merve and Can Dagistan in the spa for arranging a special treatment for me and presenting me with the most charming Turkish Bath gift set. I would have loved to have used the indoor spa facilities but these are closed for the moment and I think guests should be told prior to booking. I also think staff should ask for room numbers as discreetly as possible as such information is private especially in a busy hotel with lots of members of the public walking through. I stay in many hotels but this one stands out for how concerned the staff are for every single detail of the guest’s time - bravo and very well done. Very very safe and incredibly welcoming.
Dear GentlemanNomad, Thank you very much for your beautiful words and for sharing this review on Trip Advisor. I am delighted to see that you had an enjoyable stay at Four Seasons Hotel Bosphorus. Nothing can be more gratifying than our guests' comments! We hope your travel plans will allow you another visit to Istanbul and we will have the pleasure of welcome you again in the nearest future. We were actually disappointed with our stay at the Four Seasons. I would rate the overall experience Two Seasons. 1. Upon check in , even after providing the credit card, taking a charge on it and having pre booked with Amex platinum, the woman checking us in wanted to write down the card number and bring it down to the desk. That is not a safe procedure for protecting against card and identity theft. This did not provide a secure or friendly feeling. 2. The room was just OK- nothing special. We had a much nicer room for a much lower price at the Park Hyatt the week before. 3. The dinner experience at the Turkish restaurant was poor. We ordered at 10pm and did not receive bread until after 11pm. When my husband inquired about our order, it took another 15-20 minutes for the food to arrive- with no explanation except a tepid apology. When the food did arrive- it was not great. The food on Turkish airlines is better. The tomato salad was soggy and flavorless. It tasted as if someone had scraped the bottom of the bowl and served it to us. The kebab was just OK- not great. We were exceedingly disappointed. When my husband spoke to the manager, he apologized and decreased the bill, and blamed it on an IT problem. I told him it was a One Season experience ( not a Foir Season) and that if it were my restaurant I would not have charged at all. 4. Upon check out, I wanted to pay part of the bill in Turkish lira and the rest on my card. I was told I could not do that. I have paid partially in local currency and the rest on the Amex bill in Fine Hotels and Resorts around the world. This was the first time I was told that couldn’t be done. The positives were the spa ( amazing- Four Seasons quality) and the breakfast ( also amazing, Four Seasons quality). Overall- we were very disappointed, especially for the price. We will not be back. I would stay again at the Park Hyatt. I will also encourage our friends and on socaial to also stay at the Park Hyatt and not Four Seasons in Istanbul. Definite not up to standard.

A Splendid Hotel that fulfils its promise. Great views , great flower displays and carefully tended gardens. Spacious bedroom and bathroom with all of the bits one might expect and more . Sensitive air con. From the moment of arrival the meet & greet staff make you feel special … Kemal Berber and the concierge team superb. Restaurants outdoors with glass overlooking the water. Ugur Ginkil ( guest services ) really helpful as is Dari’s Farkas . Miss Kadar a charming meet and greet at the restaurant also a treasure . Breakfasts are outstanding , the oeuf florentine is made to perfection . We used the boat shuttle and the shuttle vehicle , most satisfactory . The guide for a day arranged with Kemal Berber was Gokhan Guneysu was first class . We had a great time apart from the seagulls in the pool

Again the FS at the Bosphorus does not disappoint. The property's location is fantastic, on the water with a great terrace and swimming pool. Hotel guests are given priority in restaurant seating and personnel at the restaurants is excellent, recognizing the guests and remembering their choices. The hotel makes an effort, every time, to provide the room requested. The front desk is efficient and fast and the guests service is above anything expected. The director of guest services recognizes guests and treats them to special treats. In our case we found one evening in our room wine and treats waiting for us as well as a couple of enlarged pictures of our recent grandson! She is just one of a kind. To this you need to add the concierges who also recognize guests, and have so many suggestions. Thanks for sending us over to Istambul Modern and for guiding us to particular historic neighbourhoods not in the main tourist attractions. They are one of a kind! The hotel management seems to do an incredible job in choosing personnel, from the reception, to the service in the rooms, to the great staff in the restaurants with their special treats for the guests. The service in this hotel is far above any other Four Seasons I've been at, which added to the spectacular location make this a one of a kind experience. Thanks for all you do to make us feel at home while in Istanbul.

The room we got was old and not to Four Seasons standards. The restaurant service was horrible for breakfast and dinner although the food was excellent. The wait staff wouldn’t serve in an appropriate amount of time. They get 2 stars. The hotel was on beautiful property but as I said rooms were old. The staff would only greet my husband. I would be with my 3 grown children and husband and they would only say good morning to him. Very rude. I have been at many Four Seasons never had such poor service and poor looking room. Stay at the Sultanmet one. Much better management. I had stayed there before.

We moved here for some chill time after sightseeing based at the at the FS Sultanhamet. The undoubted highlight of the FS Bosphorus is the pool and riverside terrace. The hotel is larger and the vibe feels a bit more impersonal than at its sister, but the service was excellent for the most part. We received a lovely VIP welcome from the general manager and the head of reception, who advised that we had been upgraded from a Palace Roof Suite to a huge historic corner suite on the second floor with lovely river views. Comfy bed and modern marble bathroom with walk-in shower. The breakfast buffet was excellent, although the fresh fruit options could be extended. On our first night, we enjoyed a lovely relaxing dinner at a riverside table in Ocakbaşı - a couple of light starters which we selected from the mezze display cabinet, followed by a generous portion of tasty kebabs. The experience was surpassed by the food and service at the hotel’s Michelin recommended fish restaurant – Acqua (see separate review). There is a good wine selection, but drinks are very pricy, even for a luxury hotel. The service at the Terrace bar was a bit ‘hit and miss’, and there were obviously some unwritten rules about which guests were allowed riverside tables. Our only issue was that we could not access emails over the hotel’s wi-fi. Overall, this was a magical stay and special birthday, which we will remember for a long time.

As being a regular daily fnb guest of four season dubai and some other four season world wide , today was my first and hope will be last every bad experience Decided today to leave mandarin and to go have dinner at four season unfortunately I walked in the YALI restaurant and the first question hostesses asked all you hotel guest or non hotel guest .. I said no am here to have dinner and she replied of your not hotel guest then you have to sit at the back of the restaurant as front is only for hotel guest So if am having dinner and paying means I am not a hotel guest ? Where is the four season values of welcoming customers ? Asked for manager then he offered me a table for four people where we were five I asked him this is too small he said we can manage and you have to squeeze in Very ridiculous and not professional I wish the reply won’t be come back and we will take care of you I need this to be explained by the General Manager and my complain will be sent to head office of four seasons

Amazing stay at the Four Seasons. The hotel is truly magnificent. Notable mentions: The view & outdoor areas are magical. The breakfast buffet is out of this world. The pool is wonderful. The concierge is so helpful and full of wonderful recommendations. 2 very minor issues I had: 1-Wine: the standard pour is 5oz. No other option is given. Price per glass of wine is based on 5oz. Going with Canadian $, a 5oz glass of Turkish Sauvignon blanc is $26! That is outrageous, even for Four Seasons. The wine “rule of thumb” is if no option is given ( I.e 5oz pour or 8oz pour), the pour should be 8oz . I found 5oz pour for $26 to be too much. And at times inconsistent depending on the waiter 2-Ocakbaşı dinning experience was very average. The setting is beautiful. But food was just ok. I found the mezze options bland. The chicken shish is a bit undercooked for my liking. It’s chewy. Also, we were seated by the speaker & the music was far too loud. It was annoying actually In summary: the hotel is amazing & a must! So beautiful 🤩

My family and I recently had breakfast at the Four Seasons at Bosphorus Hotel, excited to experience one of the best hotels in Istanbul. However, our visit left us feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. The service was a major letdown. We waited excessively long for our drinks, and even the Turkish tea we received was cold. Despite requesting water multiple times, it arrived late, leaving us parched and frustrated. While we understood a slight delay with breakfast, the fact that it was served cold and almost tasted artificial was disheartening. We opted for the Turkish breakfast, hoping to indulge in a delightful selection of local delights. Regrettably, the breakfast spread was underwhelming and failed to meet our expectations. It paled in comparison to a previous experience at Ciragan Kempinski, where everything was exceptional. The highlight of our breakfast experience was undoubtedly the bread basket and its assortment of fresh bread. It was evident that effort was put into this aspect, and we truly appreciated it. In all honesty, we expected much more from a hotel of Four Seasons' reputation. The lack of professionalism in the service and the disappointment with the breakfast left us with a bitter aftertaste. We genuinely hope the management takes this feedback constructively and addresses these issues to enhance the guest experience. While the Four Seasons at Bosphorus Hotel has the potential to be outstanding, our visit fell short of that mark. We hope that, in the future, the hotel will improve its services and regain the reputation it rightfully deserve

We went to the Teracce cafe for some drinks and snacks. The service was abysmal. The waiters had huge tattoos full sleeves and neck, no one was in systematic uniform and most were highly unkempt. They barely came for a repeat order, were not really friendly and when I informed that the sushi was served with incorrect gari and was cut too large the waiter simply said they must have ran out. Very disappointing overall. The property is great but has seen better days in my opinion. I would rather stay at the FS Sultan Ahmet where I had a fantastic time last year.
