The double booked our room and gave us a smaller room - at the same price! Room much much smaller. Room clean. Bathroom clean. Not enough toiletteries available. No drinking water. And istanbul tap water is not potable. Day receptionist extremely anti-semetic and anti-US. Location excellent. 5 mins from blue mosque (which means you'll wake up shaking and terrified at...

This stylish little hotel is located literally within minutes of Sultanahmet Square and many stunning treasures of Istanbul. The hotel has European flavor, with period decorations. The rooms are small, as is the bathroom. But this is typical for European and foreign accommodations. The place is clean, tidy, with an elevator. And the staff was fabulous, always ready to help...

This hotel has two sites - the main hotel in the heart of things and a hotel with suites situated a block away. I stayed in the suites which was perfect as I was within walking distance of everything but away from the noise and traffic. It is a small but very cozy hotel. We stayed in the suites which are very comfortable and perfectly located in a quiet and nice neighborhood, 5 minutes from Arazta Bazaar, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable, except additional beds. Everything was clean, the tub very good, Wifi working 100%,...

Absolutely awesome hotel and very friendly hosts. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood just behind the Arasta Bazaar and the Blue Mosque. The entire staff kept going out of their way to keep us comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of choice. I will certainly come back to this hotel whenI I visit Turkey again.

As I walked in, irritated because I had just fought with a cab driver who thought he could cheat my mother and I of taxi fare (It was our first time in Turkey), I saw an old man behind the admin desk with the brightest smile, and instantly I felt better about everything. He welcomed us in and knew exactly...

It was a pleasure to be in this hotel, all staff are very nice and we like a lot the old style of the hotel. The emplacement also is good, just near the old Istanbul center (Blue mosque and Aya Sofia) but away from the noise of traffic and touristic life. The only negative point is sound insulation inside the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
