A non-fancy, but adequate hotel. Most of the top sights quickly reached on foot, plus the tram line outside the hotel door takes you to the Dolmabahce Palace. And there's a metro station 2 blocks away. Check your allocated room - we swapped for a roomier one facing the busy Sircesi, which was quiet at night (double-glazing) and bustling with... More

Excelent location in you of the main street of the old town, near the galata bridge, Ayasofia, Blue Mosquet, Yemi Cani, etc...The view from the terrace is great also for a good breakfast. Try not to get the room in the last floor...because of the elevator.

We spent 5 days here and had amazing time. Staff is very courteous and helpful. All the major attractions are nearby. Room was very quiet to ensure good sleep. Breakfast had huge variety with breathtaking view. The woman on the counter guided us very well about public transport. We would definitely stay there next time.

Stay here you can thank me later. Since I had a great stay of 2 weeks a year ago on a solo trip, I brought my sister and she agreed this is a great choice and she is a 4 star hotel girl usually. Luckily Kamil was attending the desk when we walked in as he is so well dressed,... More

The location is very good as it's on the main street and just 1 min to the tram station (Gulhane station). You can walk to all the main attractions from this hotel. May restaurant around and convenient store is just next door Bad thing is it's not well maintained. I went to the rooftop floor and it's so dirty. My... More

The Hotel is located very close to the most touristic places and this is a good start. There is no need to use public means because restaurants and pubs are just there. The breakfast it's huge and vary, the sight of the terrace it's great. Regarding the accomodation the rooms are cheap and the restroom it's claustrofobic. If you have... More

I am on my 3rd week in Istanbul, I stayed at a 4 star hotel for 5 days as I wanted to look at rooms and hotels before moving to something less expensive. I went to another hotel and though it was clean it was small so I started to look at rooms at other local hotels and found this.... More

Booked for three nights for six. I already knew the location so was no mystery to me concerning location. Rooms were comfortable and were equipped for function and not luxury. Exactly as the cost would suggest. Rooms were spotless and cleaned very well every day. Breakfast was a running buffet which was more than adequate and had enough choice available... More

Stayed for 7 nights in May. Booked our room direct with the hotel and dealt with Karim by email who was very efficient and answered all our queries. Hotel is in Sirkeci on a busy street but we were given the choice of either a room at front or the back of the hotel. We chose to stay in one... More

This is a typical budget hotel--small, dark, dated rooms. On the positive side it is very reasonable ($35 for a single in April), well located for walking to Aya Sophia area, Galata Bridge, Bosphorus cruises, etc., very good buffet breakfast, and best of all the staff is most accommodating and helpful. If you don't plan on spending a lot of... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
