solid 5 stars. beautiful with unparalleled views of the city. outstanding spa, great pool and sauna. good restaurant with a panoramic view of the city. has nice tennis courts. the service is consistently good.
We had 2 nights in this extraordinary looking hotel. The rooms are huge, comfortable and well equipped. Though it is irritating to be provided with an espresso machine and then charged $5 per capsule, not many hotels charge for the capsules these days. The bathroom was vast and well equipped with very efficient underfloor heating. Breakfast in our opinion was poor, Best to stick with the freshly cooked egg options. We had a meal in the Chinese restaurant, very good but expensive. The hotel is well out of town, but has excellent views and very nice well kept grounds. A decent stay before our tour.
Although the hotel is quite a way out of town, the view from the rooms more than makes up for it. The rooms are opulent - I’ve stayed in hotel rooms the size of the bathroom. The bed is comfortable and king sized. There is a large screen tv with scores of channels, but only a handful are English language and these are news, no entertainment. The staff are very helpful and those on reception speak good English. Breakfast is included and is quite acceptable if not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Go for the freshly made omelettes - you may need to chase up someone to make one for you. The rest of the restaurants serve a huge variety of Western style food, which we we didn’t try after hearing adverse comments. We stuck to the Chinese menu and it was fine and much more reasonably priced. Drinks are exorbitantly priced - water is free. There is a bus that runs past the hotel, but if you’re paying for a room here you can afford to hire a taxi - we shared a mini van with others for US$20 an hour and had an excellent tour of the city.…
The hotel is a striking piece of architecture sited on a prominent hill where it attracts deserved admiration. The entrance lobby is huge and features stunning marble columns and floor. Staff are very smartly dressed, very helpful and mostly multilingual. Our room was large, with a huge picture window overlooking Ashgabat. It was elegantly furnished with a comfortable king sized bed, a large TV with a hundred channels, and very good climate control. Our bathroom was fully equipped and as large as some bedrooms in other hotels. The room was spotlessly clean and was serviced daily. There are several restaurants with local as well as international dishes on the extensive menus. Food service and presentation was excellent and the standard of cooking was good. There is a huge indoor pool and a spa and there are large outdoor pools used in their summer. Prices were not unreasonably high, though I dont often pay US$10 for a beer.…
Stayed 2 nights on a 5 Stans tour. Hotel was beautiful, suite and common areas clean and well maintained. Breakfast buffet was good with a lot of variety of food. Hotel expensive for the area, but cannot get this type of lodging without the high prices. Wanted a coke and went to the Cafe, floor below the lobby level--price was about US$18..,...so I passed. There is a bar on the 19th floor, but after the price point on the coke did not go to the bar. Lighting in the suite was fantastic.
I stayed already for the second time at the Yyldyz Hotel and was fully satisfied. The Service is good, the rooms are huge with a high comfort. The views from the rooms is amazing. The food is also quite good. Can highly recommend this place.
Very clean pool in the city. You can go with family, services of pool also good. You can rest there and eat good meals. Also indoor pool is very good and very clean. I can advise for guests of Ashgabat.
Yyldyz Hotel is very beautiful inside and out. The lobby being its' best feature. The rooms are classic looking but unwelcoming. They are big but lack of that cozy feeling. The bed was like a stiff board and gave me a back ache. The bathroom was great with a nice large tub and separate shower. I had a nice view of the Wedding Palace. The restaurant food and breakfast food were both underwhelming. I ate at the restaurant twice and had the free breakfast buffet. I never had anything that was better than average. The front desk staff were accommodating but definitely did not go out of their way to be kind and sometimes even seemed inconvenienced by my questions. Pool staff was nice and the restaurant staff was very kind and helpful. The prices there were extremely high. For example, for a bottle of mineral water at the pool, I paid 52 Manat which is the equivalent of $15 USD. In the restaurant and bar, a low end glass of wine was approximately the same at $16 USD. It is a lovely hotel, but definitely not worth the price you pay.…
Stayed here on business and its great. Clean, spacious and well appointed rooms with a fantastic view of the 18 hole golf course (the only one in Turkmenistan apparently) and Ashgabat beyond. Good breakfast, attentive staff and a decent restaurant.
This is a beautiful hotel, very ritzy. I had a deluxe room with a panoramic view. Previous reviews already described this luxurious place and I concur. I enjoyed my breakfast which was ample. My only complaint is that my mattress was lumpy and too soft for me.
