Hotel's Favorite
This centrally located hotel, right next to the mall, offered a luxurious, quiet, and comfortable stay. My room overlooked a beautiful park with a serene Ferris wheel view. The cleanliness and comfort were outstanding. The staff, both friendly and professional, ensured a pleasant experience. Their breakfast selection was diverse and satisfying. Overall, it's a perfect spot for a serene yet indulgent stay amidst the city's hustle and bustle

Recently discovered the Shangri-La brand. WOW !!! is the best way to describe it. Very clean, spacious, and amazingly accommodating staff in every department. Nora at the reception desk was very accommodating and helpful with getting a presentation printed when needed for an upcoming meeting. All staff members speak English, and amazingly friendly. The restaurant in the main lobby offers a wide selection of food. Both continental and local cuisine. Rooms are very spacious and thoughtfully set up to accommodate business travelers with access to the internet, universal power outlets, safe, luggage storage, and all the necessary amenities. If you are traveling to Ulaanbaatar, I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in a king suite, the amenities in the room were terrific the one that stood out the most to me was the HMI cable that was there for you, i plugged my computer in and played some music and it also had speakers in the washroom, coffee available in your room as well as plenty of water.
I had my breakfast delivered to my room every morning at 7am and they were always on time and I tried something new every day, no complaints about anything. The eggs were done beautifully not too much salt but just a little to the taste.
I used the laundry services which were delivered back to my room and hung up in the closet, very good job on the cleaning.
I ate at the Naadam restaurant, the Hutong restaurant and ordered room service.
The portions from all 3 were very generous and were fantastic. I did notice that the room service meals were the same as the Naadam restaurant.
I went to the spa 2 days and the staff were amazing! One day just wasn't enough i had to go back.
Cleaning staff did a great job as well every morning.
Anytime I went to the front desk to either ask a question or ask to get a taxi they were always very kind and welcoming and answered all my questions and made sure i was going to the right destination.

Stopping there everytime I'm in UB, and was quite satisfied at every occasion.
The hotel got a perfect location, so you're 10 to 15 mn walking from every tourist spot in UB, and also all the nice and cool restaurants and coffee shops. The view is stunning specially if are in the highest floors on the west side. Rooms are spacious, the bed and pillows are very comfy, basically everything is at 5 stars Hotel level.
Looby is stunning and you can enjoy a coffee in a very cosy atmosphere. The hotel give you access to the gym and spa who are part of the Shangri-La mall next door , you can directly access to the mall from the hotel without going outside which is very convenient specially winter time when temperatures drops under -30 !
Down point is the room service which is quite slow and most of the time unavailable after 10pm.

Whilst travelling the great landscapes of Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia, take a leap of faith and make your stay more comfortable in this majestic country by spending a few nights at this hotel.
The staff is customer focused.. the breakfast offering is one of the best. The breakfast led by a gentleman named Mason will make you feel at home. They show genuine interest in you. The hotel itself is fantastic, it has great facilities from Gym, swimming pool and it is located centrally. This makes the hotel a walking distance from all the amenities. Beautiful views of the South Mountain and theme park...

Cleaning staff was chewing gum when I I was asking to provide a service, it was so unfriendly.
The gym music selection is full of vulgar words - really not professional, we wanted to take a shower but it was so smelly with sticky walls in the shower. No one could give us a clear instruction how to use fitness machines, careless staff without basic English knowledge.
Stressful Parking, had to leave my car far away from location.

We arrived already at around 7 am in the hotel. The entrance hall is huge and pleasant. The greeting at the hotel reception was : Hello, if you want to get into your room now you have to pay half of the room price. Bang ! No, thanks, for 5 hours I do not pay half of the room fee (check-in time on my reservation was 12 pm).We stored our luggage and went to do some sightseeing with our guide.
Our room was dated but nice enough with a good view and very quiet. Unfortunately I did not sleep well, because you could not open a window and the air in the room was so stuffy (even with the aircon running for hours). It felt like suffocating in an old carpet.
The breakfast choices were amazing. The hotel catered for all tastes (European, Asian, Mongolian,..). BUT to get a coffee or cappuccino you literally had to CHASE staff (even though there weren’t many people in the huge breakfast restaurant).
The location is very good, next to a good shopping mall and a short walk from the city center with the parliament, state opera, etc.
Because I slept so badly and the „welcome“ was so brusquely I booked another hotel for our last night in UB after traveling thru Mongolia.

The Shangri-La experience was exceptional. The staff are wonderful and are willing to help in any way they can to ensure you have the best experience. The hotel has a gym and pool. The gym is the best managed gym in Asia. It is the largest and has the most equipment out of any hotel I have ever stayed at. There is a mall attached to the hotel where you are able to go shopping without ever leaving the hotel. During the cold weather this is essential. The restaurants attached to the hotel are fine dining types of foods and are priced very reasonably for the amount and quality of food you receive. I did want to thank one employee by name at this hotel. Although all the staff were more than helpful Dulguun (front Desk worker who is tall) was super helpful to me and my coworkers. She assisted us by arranging the sale of traditional Mongolian fur boots and other souvenirs. She made our stay seem like we were the only guests at the hotel. She took her time contacting places that might have the souvenirs we were looking for which in the end, she found everything we wanted. Thanks Dulguun and staff at the Shangri-La for the outstanding stay in Mongolia. Look forward to future visits to Mongolia.
Two minor issues:
The A/C / Heater did not adjust even as I manually set the temperature cooler. It maintained the same degrees in the room.
The WiFi was a little slow in the rooms.

We had two stays, one for one night and one for three after attending the Eagle Festival in western Mongolia. Arrival and check in was smooth and efficient. The front desk was able to hold a bag for us for the three days we spent away at the festival. We had breakfast included which was an easy way to start each day. The Nadam restaurant had Oktoberfest going on the night we arrived and we ate there again one other night. Service there was a bit slow to absent for both nights.
The rooms were pleasant, roomy and clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a soft and a firm pillow for each person. We didn't have any special requests although I'm sure they would have been accommodated. The showers were roomy and water pressure/temp control very good. Wi-Fi was stable and strong throughout the hotel property. No password so connecting was easy.
The hotel complex is located in a very convenient location which is great once you're there but can take some time coming from outside (tours, airport etc). We were able to walk to most attractions from the hotel and dine/drink in the area within walking distance.
Overall pleasant staff, comfortable rooms and convenient location. Well worth considering while staying in UB.

Spent a total of three days at the Shangri-La hotel and overall am very happy with the experience. Stayed on the eighth floor overlooking the National Amusement Park. Service was prompt and helpful. The room was larger than expected, with the bathroom being a highlight for me. The breakfast buffet was top notch with a good mix of local and western type foods. The downside of the visit was the Naadam Bar and Restaurant located at the hotel. The food and drinks were excellent but wait time was terrible. Ordered sliders and a beer; beer took almost 10 min to arrive and the food took 35 total min for three sliders. Overall I would most definitely come back keeping in mind to go elsewhere for food.

Yes, I recall they did, but I enjoyed mine in their beautiful dining area. Loved this hotel and their kind staff.
Definitely too far for a day.
