I have traveled to many places far and wide, and NEVER expected to have one of the finest hotels I have every stayed in be in Mongolia! As part of my Mongolian Luxury Tours, I had THREE opportuinities to stay at the Blue Sky (arrival, return from Gobi desert, return from Western Mongolia) and each time was superb. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms, service, and friendliness made each stay very wonderful and welcoming. You can not go wrong with this hotel. It is GREAT!!!

Pulsating music outside all night long. Impossible to sleep here. The staff were completely not concerned by it. Maybe a room on the east side wouldn’t be as bad…I don’t know. Restaurant was closed so we had to go to the lounge / restaurant on 23rd floor. Large and impressive menu, but nothing available. The pizza was and undercooked mush. Disgusting. How this property can be a Preferred Hotel and Resort member is hard to believe.

The hotel is very nice, fabulous location, service good --- BUT. the outside noise all night makes it impossible to sleep. The first night was a Friday night and there was a band playing outside until 2 am. I asked to be moved to the other side of the hotel and the next night was okay. But when I returned to the hotel a week later, the same side, there was again noise outside all night -- I think now from a new large advertising screen with loudspeaker located right outside the hotel. I complained to the attentive staff and they said they were trying to do something about it -- so if that is removed my review would be quite different, probably a 3-4* as the rooms are not being well maintained for tears and scratches and blinds around shower did not work but rest was very good.

I stayed for 3 days recentlly. The room was nicely appointed, with nice location, views, and restaurants. However, there were three issues. 1) There was loud music outside (from an outdoor music venue and advertisements) until early morning hours that kept us awake. This was a major problem, and I would not stay there unless assured the problem was solved. 2) there was no heat, and nights were cold (on the last night we were able to request a portable heater). 3) the blinds on the window between the shower glass and the room did not work well.

Not a 5 star hotel, at best 1 star. Hotel ambience and lightings are terrible. Lobby is low class and cold. No amenities in room. Bathroom is terrible layout with terrible florescent lightings. Gym and spa is run down, broken tiles, looks and feels dirty. This hotel needs total renovation with interior design consultation

spent a night in this hotel. the room was nice and i had paid extra for a corner one with a good view which it did have. other than that the lobby area wasn't that nice, it is more like a sopping plaza or office building lobby than a luxury hotel. the room was dark and breakfast was not that great

I am a tenant in the Tower section of this establishment. The building management has decided to cut heating in snowy weather and when inquired they gave financial inability to pay for central heating as the reason for freezing its tenants. Every day around 10 am, dust particles invade our offices through the ventilation system. They are apparently 'fixing' the swimming pool without isolating it. I can't imagine how horrible the rooms in the hotel section are, must be unbearable.

My wife and I stayed here for a night before our flight back and the hotel was pretty good. However, a bit pricey for what you get and the bath is a little small. The view however is pretty nice and if you can get the side facing the square.

Once again, we stumbled across a hotel that thinks having see-through glass walls and doors in their bathrooms is a good idea. In fact, some room layouts have inside the entire bathroom visible from the living room, so there is nowhere to hide. Awkward if you are entertaining guests. I love my husband dearly, but I don’t need to see him using the toilet. Shame on Blue Sky. Otherwise, the hotel was pleasant with a few nice restaurants (we enjoyed the Korean one, the Japanese one, and Seasons for breakfast). The Blue Sky Lounge on the 23rd floor was hit-or-miss. Sketchy service at the tables; great service if you are sitting at the bar. The front desk personnel bent over backwards to be helpful, and their English was pretty darn good.

This hotel boasts spacious rooms with lovely views of the city center. We stayed here on two occasions once before and once after our trek out West to the Eagle Festival. On both occasions we found the staff attentive, cheerful and helpful. The bathrooms are large with modern fixtures and a great shower. The one quirk is that there is a glass wall between the bathroom and the bedroom and the blinds do not fully close so that you better feel very very comfortable with your roommate because there is no real privacy!
