hello, the idre hostel does not exist any longer but idre tours still do and it works great. all our wishes come true, starting with the route plan together with jigde (owner of the company) via whatsapp. nice pickup from the airport, fantastic driver and top guide. changing plans during travel was easy too. enjoied stays with lokal nomadic families and saw great places. igden is a is great "boss" who dosent give the feel of a boss, very friendly. "Balu" a great driver, even he does not speak english always good for a joke, " single" is a very knowledgeable guide, good cook, maybe a little too proud te be monglian but very funny and trustful all the time.
the last two nights in ulaanbataar jigden booked a very comfortable hotel for us, very relaxing after a 20 days journey on adventures roads and nights in gers and ents.
thank you all

We engaged Jigden to plan our trip for us (Singapore couple in 20s). He was able to converse excellently with us and tweak the itinerary to exactly what we wanted.
Our guide Tsengel spoke excellent English and was an amazing chef— we had awesome variation of food during the trip like good pizza and traditional Mongolian bbq. During the trip, he always gave detailed explanations of the sites and history. Driver, Bysal, was an amazing driver and we always felt safe in his hands even while driving on dirt roads, as he had amazing control and always got us to our destination on time (even when he had to drive 500km in a day!).
During the 13 day tour, we went to Mini Gobi, Great white lake, khusvul lake, chinggis khan statute, hustai, terelj….. we had a mixture of family gers and tourist camps which was a good balance and even a day of camping was lit!
We love the culture, people, drinks (sea buckthorn and VODKA), and staying in gers.
Thanks so much Jigden for planning such an amazing trip. Book this tour, you won’t regret! We can’t wait to come back to Mongolia next time for Altai Mountains and Gobi Desert.

Found this tour operator through the internet. Clear website with tour descriptions and prices. We did the Gobi & Central Mongolia tour (11 days/ 10 nights). Communication clear, but long reaction time. They arranged airport pickup and hostel as well.
We chose the budget tour. We stayed 10 nights in gers, a combination of small family owned and bigger tourist camps. Expect basic sanitary facilities in most camps. Distances are big in Mongolia and a lot of roads are unpaved, but we didn’t spend whole days in the car.
Food was good. Our guide provides 3 meals a day, mostly cooked by himself.
Overall we enjoyed the tour, which was a good combination between steppe/desert, nature (Orkhon valley) and culture (Karakorum). We recommend Idre tours for being reliable and offering good value for money.

We did the Gobi/Central Mongolia tour for 10 days and had an amazing time! This was not only due to the stunning landscapes and sights but also because of our great guide Gira and our fantastic driver Tawka. They really made this trip memorable.
Gira was very careful and attentive to our needs and wishes and cooked delicious and plentiful meals for us every day (she also provided tasty vegetarian options). She even took us to visit her own family. We had long and insightful conversations with Gira about nomadic life, Mongolian culture and society, which she was really open about.
Tawka wasn‘t so talkative (due to the language barrier), but still as friendly as it gets and very funny - and a very competent driver who navigated the bumpy roads with ease and made us feel at home in his Furgon van which we grew to love, since we spent so much time in it.
We chose the midrange option which turned out to be a great choice since we alternated between homestays in simple Gers of nomadic families and more comfortable tourist camps with the option to shower or buy a cold beer in the evenings. Still, we were interested in meeting the nomadic families and learning about their lifestyle, which it turned out not all of them wanted as much as us. for some families, it seemed, the tourists are just a source of revenue, and so they weren‘t really present or interested in talking to us. Other families were lovely and very accommodating.
We had booked the tour online and Jigden helped to set everything up. He was very forthcoming and accommodating.
I would definitely book with Idre tours again, they are competent and professional, but still authentic and easygoing. Thank you for everything!

One of the first things I liked about Idre Tours was the price on the website. So many budget Mongolian tours don't include this. I like how clear it was the different cost levels and options. Then it was how easy and quick it was to communicate with Jigden. I emailed him several times before my trip and he was always prompt.
I did two tours, even though Jigden offered the two tours together, I wanted to go back to UB city for a Naadam day. Because of this I've actually met several workers within the company and each of them made each tour. I wouldn't imagine another tour company having as good of workers. (Please excuse my spelling) Taska and Orlna for the Gobi, Somyea for Naadam, and Idre for Central. All AMAZING!!! I felt cared for and not just some body to lug around. They wanted me to enjoy my trip. Stopping for photos was no problem and encouraged.
I booked a budget tour and went in fully expecting what I got so there were no surprises. The difference in the tour prices is very low though so if you even have a little wiggle of doubt on what level to book, just pay the little more.
Anyway, clearly 100% recommend as Jigden and his employees are like no others :)

I joined 10days tour(midrange option) with other 3 ladies. We went through white stupa, sand dune, flaming cliff, ongi monastery, orkhon valley, tsenkher hot spring, Karakorum and Hustai national park in which we were able to see completely different aspects of Mongolia. It was amazing to see beautiful sunset at sand dune one day and enjoy hot springs with great grassland view on another day. And our best tour guide, Single gave us clear and informative explanations of every place. I would recommend the tour to those who are not native to English.
Since we had to drive long distance to move one place to another, driving hour was longer than expected and the roads were bumpy. However, our driver Dafka was very professional in fixing the car and accurate in navigating the roads, therefore we didn’t have any troubles.
Overall, it was one of the most amazing I’ve ever had in my life and made me want to go back to Mongolia again!!

My sister and I took a 12-day tour, which was Idre's Gobi Desert & Central Mongolia tour, plus we added on an extra day in Terelj National Park. It was really easy to communicate with Jigden via email from the beginning and he was able to customise our tour no problem (i.e. adding that extra destination on). The prices are also clearly listed on their website which is really helpful. For the actual tour, our guide Bata and driver Ganbat were fantastic. Bata spoke excellent English and was kind and friendly and answered a lot of our questions about nomadic life in Mongolia. He also cooked an amazing variety of vegetarian dishes for us. Ganbat was also so kind and friendly and a great driver through all terrain and weather! The combination of destinations that we visited was just incredible... personal highlights for me were climbing the sand dune in the Gobi Desert (hard but worth it!), riding a horse in beautiful surroundings and spending some time with our tour guide's family as we passed near their home on our travels. It was definitely a once in a lifetime trip and I'm so happy we did it! One thing I would suggest to anyone taking a tour like this is to bring earplugs just in case, as some of the accommodation spots have quite a few gers/yurts set up together. Overall, I would highly recommend booking through this company :)

Mongolia is an amazing place, different from all we have visited so far.
Huge spaces are fascinating, but also can be a challenge for travelers.
You need to know where to stop for a meal, where to refuel your car, where to stop for a night.
That is why the help of an experienced guide and experienced driver is extremely valuable.
It is important to carefully plan your route, taking into account your own interests and needs as well as local realities.
Thanks to the cooperation with Jigden and Idre Tours, our trip was hundred percent successful.
An excellent guide and experience driver became our family for 3 weeks of travelling through Mongolia.
We highly recommend the whole team, to anyone who wants to experience a true Mongolian adventure.

I just completed a tour of Gobi and Central Mongolia with Idre Tours. Jigden was very responsive via email, the trip was well organised, food was amazing, and nothing we asked to see or do along the way was considered too difficult. Gana (our Guide) and Baysaa (our driver) and the tour group made the trip fantastic. There were SO many highlights but what stands out is sand boarding down the dunes at Khongor Els, riding to/ swimming at the Orkhon waterfall and drinking yak vodka with a nomad family....I just wish I had stayed longer as this trip to Mongolia was one of the highlights of my life!

We have just returned from Mongolia and we would like to share some of our impressions from our tour organised by Idre Tours. Our first enormous thanks we address to Jigden. His professional handling of our request, precise advice and prompt answers were the leading factors why we chose Idre Tours. The program we chose- Gobi Desert and Central Mongolia was well designed and composed. It included the places we were interested in. During 11 days we completed the whole itinerary of it. We travelled with Davka (driver) and Bata (tour guide and cook). Davka is an excellent and experienced driver whose skills we highly value. He knew by heart or some inner GPS which way to choose and how to handle the obstacles on the way. He is also a wonderful person, willing to help and assist others. Bata is a young tour guide, whose enthusiasm to promote Mongolia, present its beauty and uniqueness is endless! He is also an excellent cook! He prepared all our meals and kept surprising us with delicious menu. The food was plentifull and very diversed (not always meat!). What is more both Bata and Davka chose spectacular spots for our lunches. The ambience of our tour was very friendly and we experienced the Mongolian hospitality while staying in the yurts with the local Families.
We can trully recommend the service of Idre Tours. They are professionals who conduct their duties with real enthusiasm and commitment. Thus we would like to thank them wholeheartedly for everything. We hope to meet again one day in the future. Баярлалаа!!!
