Mali Namphu is one of those classic places, that care more about having 3 stars, then their guests having a good experience. Everything is worn down and not like the nice pictures.

I read quite a number of very good reviews before booking this hotel, but I didn't recognise them myself. An old, city centre hotel, it does have a charming courtyard and a small roof top swimming pool. However, my room, off the courtyard, had not...More

At this price point you might expect 4+ star quality but you may mistaken. My room was disappointing and quite sad. The AC had a damp smell and the bed was far from premium. Breakfast was as disappointing as the room. Avoid

I left there on Saturday morning. Could not wait to get out of the place. Should have submitted my original review which was in excesss of 1400 words and none of them positive. I gave them a pretty good run down on how I felt when checking out though. I chose to submit a shortened version as was out of the dump and now in a nice, clean place in BKK for a few nights before heading NE.
Maybe they pay people (phantom guests) a few thousand kip to write the positive reviews?

If you are out and about all day, as we were, the work won't matter. They didn't start until about 10:00 and finished around 17:00. Breakfast was fine when we were there - buffet style - as much as you want
