Friendly staff, good facilities and close to many bars and nightlife places. The problems of the hotel is a noisy nightclub at the ground floor and poor Internet connection which is common in whole city. Try to book high floor rooms to get rid of the noise.

We checked in here for 2 nights, the room was large and the beds were comfortable but the internet was so slow that I could not use it and the breakfast was not good. The room was fairly clean by Asia standards, but not likely to impress european or american visitors who expect higher standards. Over all not bad, but... More

I notice someone has already listed it as the worst hotel - they've beaten me to that. It must have been a really nice hotel in its heyday - twenty or thirty years ago.Now it's really a shadow of that, very run-down and delapidated. The aircon in a quite a few rooms was noisy. I know, as we stayed there... More

The worst hotel I've ever stayed. Maintenance is the biggest downside of this hotel. I stayed here in Oct 2014. Shower screen (this hotel uses NON-tampered glass) fell while I was about to shower. I got injured by the falling glasses. Went to the front counter & was shocked that they do not even have a first aid kit which... More

The only redeeming quality of the Mekong Hotel was its location, which was not even that great (5-10 minute walk to central Vientiane, whereas there are plenty of places actually in the center). The hotel is run down and the rooms are not clean- there was always black hair left behind by the cleaning people. I found three spiders on... More

First time in Laos and booked this over Internet ! We had a room above the nightclub - the porter said on taking us to the room, it may be noisy, if so , we could shift you tomorrow , as we were staying there for 5 nights- ( we are over 60.! ) He was right, it was noisy... More

I've been to Vientiane several times for business trip and stay in this hotel for most of times. It's pretty convenient since some of the waiter can speak Chinese, there's a Chinese restaurant in the hotel which is good. The room is big and clean with stable hot water. The price is fair compare to some other ones in Vientiane.... More

Checked out of Beau Rivage Mekong Hotel as the diesel powered air con and adjacent building site meant no sleep, found this vast communist syle monolith of a hotel round the corner and asked if they had a room. Were told they were full but could do us an Executive Suite for $80, checked the room out and it was... More

Recommend this hotel for the person who want to spend the night outside the room. The room is big, clean, location is so so... price is fair... Especially, I love their service and make my stay longer.

It is a very nice and clean hotel. The rooms are big enough. Because of a night club in the first floor, this hotel is noisy. From 8:00 pm till 1:00 am, the party is on and you hear the sound. Otherwise, it is good.
