I haven't given a hotel 5 stars yet, but Salana would get a full 4.5 stars if not for unusable internet. I'm really not sure what it is about Laos that makes it so hard for these hotels to provide their guests with a stable internet connection. It's not like internet itself is difficult to get over there; I can...

Just spent 4 nights here. Pros: great location and sweet staff. Room was at the back and bigger than my larger than average bedroom in London (no idea why some reviewers thought the rooms were small... have they been to Paris?!) Cons: don't order cocktails here... they haven't a clue... and charged me extra for mixer soda in an undrinkable...

While we only stayed one night in Hotel Salana, I found this hotel very well located and the staff and service extremely courteous. A 10 minute walk to the night market area and some great street food just around the corner. The rooms were spacious and the spa service was very good. There's also a small shop in the hotel...

I booked the suite room and stayed on 16 Dec 2016, but the room size was disappointing. i really expected a larger room size since it was a suite. it was expensive for this room size and standard. However, room was clean, bed was comfy. Wifi was working. The sink in the kitchenette had water that wouldn't drain down. we...

Since my last review I returned to Vientiane and had to spend a lot of time in the Salana. It really is a home from home, and the staff here strive constantly to improve the service and the amenities. I was lucky enough to spend some time in Suite 603, which is a delightful corner suite with a double view...

Good location, lovely room. Very pleasant lounge on the 4th floor for hotel guests with a bar, library (books and dvds) and eating facilities. Good spa with massage. Staff were friendly, attentive and spoke good English. Good breakfast and food. Overall, a good choice.

We were so pleased to have chosen this hotel. It was luxury in the middle of the downtown tourist area. The big name hotel brands were further out from the centre. Large clean deluxe room with good size bathroom. I'd also recommend the bar on the 4th floor so sundown g&t. My only small consideration was that the hotel staff...

Located near good eating places and Mekong river. Staff are helpful and facilities are ok. Hot water is intermittent and sink stopper does not work. Construction nearby makes walking difficult but this will pass. Overall decent hotel.

Booked with hotels.com for 3 nights and it had pretty good ratings on TA as well which influences my decisions these days on hotels and restaurants. We asked for and got 2 adjoining rooms side and the late evening check in was pleasant and efficient. It's billed as a boutique hotel and that comes with expectations. This place has recognition...

The Salana is in a great location as everything is in easy walking distance. The rooms are not the biggest but are extremely well equipped and comfortable. The service from staff in the fourth floor bar and at breakfast was fantastic.
