Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The top location on the Mekong river is only one reason to stay there. The minute you enter the hotel you are spoiled by the friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are very nicely decorated and have separate showers and toilets and all amenities you need for a couple of days. Breakfast is a la carte with choices of european and laotian dishes. The food in the restaurant is very good. In the afternoon there is a litte buffet where one can get some complimentary snacks and drinks including french white and red wine. Just a few steps outside the hotel to the left and right on the bank of Mekong you have a myriad of good restaurants, bars and a charming and busy night food market with open air restaurants. On the top floor of the hotel there is a superb roofttop bar and restaurant with excellent views of the Mekong river and Thailand on the other side of the river. Service is very good and on weekend days a life band with mainly soul and jazz music contributes to a great al fresco evening. Last not least they have a surprisingly big wine shop with a huge selection of top french wines and champagnes, something I would not really have expected to see in Laos. Highly recommended!

A wonderful room, exceptional staff, lovely dining experiences and a wine collection to rival spots in New York.
The bed was the most comfortable I have slept on at a hotel in some time - with comforter and pillows like a cloud. The room was modern and well appointed, but not overly extravagant or decorated. The free minibar snacks & drinks were super appreciated. Everything was spotlessly clean. The toiletries are coconut scented the lotion was a welcome relief to legs that had been trekking around SE Asia for 2 weeks.
Shoutouts to Cie, Teng and the whole staff for making me feel welcomed and special at all times. They connected me with an excellent taxi driver for exploring the city, and made sure I had all I needed.
Breakfast and happy hour at the downstairs restaurant was beautiful and always set to music (classical in the morning, pop at happy hour and live jazz from 7:30-10pm.) The food was very good, and had a variety to suit most tastes.
And the rooftop bar was incredible - with a sunset view of the Mekong to make anyone swoon.
I will be back, the next time life allows it!

The hotel is located by the Mekong River and within walking distance to the city center and night market. The rooms is very nice and the bed was very very comfortable. A la carte breakfast with good selections of set menus...delicious! The bar on 7th floor is nice and relaxing with some jazz music during the night where you can enjoy tapas and good selections of Lao and Western food. Recommended for you who like to stay in a quiet arof Vientiane.

We went to 7th Heaven, the rooftop bar of La Seine Hotel for a sundowner. The only thing to recommend this establishment is the view over the Mekong. The hotel has an incredible selection of wines in the store on the ground floor of the hotel; therefore, we were surprised to find only two wines available by the glass, one red and one white. Both were indifferent choices. And the bartender provided a very short pour for about $6 USD per glass. A really bad musical loop plays—some Lao music would greatly improve the atmosphere. Go down the block for a drink at the Spirit House—the best and most unique cocktails in town.

Stayed 2 nights with wife and kids, and it was a perfect stay, rooms are huge, clean, very nice views over the Mekong, friendly, professional and helpful staff. The wine bar certainly has the best selection in Vientiane. We got lucky to meet the owners who are the friendliest people, they even offered me a glass of Bordeaux! Thank you again! The hotel/room design makes you feel very special, great attention to details, Air Con in the room was quiet and cool. Roof bar is a sweet spot for sunset with a glass of wine and the lift taking you up there is very smooth. Thank you to the staff and owners for this perfect stay. La Seine is my favorite hotel in Vientiane!

What a beautiful hotel! The decor is excellent and we were impressed especially with the foyer and the display of wines. Attention is given to detail such as the flowers on each table. The room we had was large and very comfortable, complete with excellent toiletries. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to supply a shower mat. The tiles in the shower room were very slippy and we had to lay a towel on the shower floor to prevent an accident. The location is perfect for exploring the town, temples, restaurants, markets and shops. The choice of breakfasts is more than adequate and is served with delicious coffee and croissants. All staff were so polite and helpful. Would certainly recommend staying in this hotel if in Vientiane for a holiday or business.

Loved our stay here. The rooms are really stylish (just like in the website pictures) and extremely clean. We stayed in a superior deluxe and loved relaxing in the tub at the end of the day. The coconut toiletries are also a nice touch and the hotel reminded me of some of the smaller boutique ones in Europe. The hotel also has a cute foyer and rooftop area where you can eat - we didn’t dine there but the view of the Mekong was amazing (nb. The menu was a bit more pricey but the food looked good). It’s within walking distance of all the main restaurants, cafes and the night market, and we found the staff to be professional and helpful. The area also seemed quite safe to walk around at night. We would happily return if we come back to Laos. Thank you to the team there for an amazing stay!
FYI - a couple of other reviews mentioned noise from a nearby bar. Tbh this didn’t bother us (even though we could hear it) and we had a really relaxing stay. I don’t really know what else the hotel can do about this, and given Vientiane is one of the larger cities, I imagine other hotels are the same.

An excellent choice of hotel in Vientiane. Room is clean and services are excellent. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is either buffet or all-you-can-order from the menu (when occupants are below certain threshold). Rooftop bar and restaurant serves superb choices of food and wine. Booking for table in advance is recommended if you don't want to be disappointed.
I always stay at La Seine, at least 5 visits in 2022 already. The quality of services remains at top level, unchanged!

My first impression at the hotel was warm and relaxed atmosphere and refreshed and delicious "Rosemary Ginger" welcome drink after a long trip. The room was large and decorated in modern style. Restaurant and wine shop were beautiful, I could view gorgoues scene of Khong river from th rooftop bar! Staff were very friendly and took a very good care of me since the fist step I entered the hotel to the moment I checked out.
