Stayed at pacific vientiane hotel is very convenient and it is a good place to stay. It is near many place that you wnat to go and this is a simple hotel that provides a clean bed and bathroom. They also have breakfast in the morning. It is very simple, but it is very delicious.About AC and wifi are working well and very fast. They also have a fan in the room. It looks very lovely. There is a good location to stay and all staff are friendly and helpful. The important thing is very good price to stay at pacific vientiane hotel.
This is a simple hotel that provides a clean bed and bathroom. It's good if you just want to spend the night and it's priced accordingly. Breakfast was simple but very tasty. Location is excellent, within walking distance to the main attractions of Vientiane. Staff is helpful and supportive. The only major drawback is the lack of an elevator, which can be a problem if you are carrying heavy luggage.
Booked a "deluxe" twin for two nights but left after the first night. It was tiny, badly finished, uncomfortable, not properly cleaned and the staff were miserable. We moved to Vientiane Garden Villa which was cheaper, huge room with balcony, free breakfast and outdoor pool - no comparison!
This hotel ruined my plans for the only day in Vientiane and my last day in Laos. I specifically booked it because it allowed credit card payment. I know hostels and guesthouses usually keep a deposit in case you damage the property as they do not have card payment facilities but a 3 start hotel?? After paying in full my stay with my credit card, therefore having them all my credit card details, they asked if they could keep my passport, i found it super weird for a hotel that has already your credit card details, I said no as i wanted to rent a bike/motorbike to visit the city (i had only one day) i said they could have a copy (they had a printer that i dont know what they use it for) but according to them a copy of the passport is nothing? Nothing?? A copy of my passport is all i have ever given even to ask for a Residence permit in another country. What did they want to do with my passport?? Then they refused my stay, they said i could not stay if i did not leave my passport... ok, i ask for a refund and i would leave. But instead of a refund they charged me twice! It took a while to actually get a refund of the second charge which by the way she initially did not want to admit that she had done. With all this mess she said that a copy of the passport would be ok but i insisted in having my refund first. Once i got the refund for my second charge (a more senior person came for that) i offered my passport for them to copy/write down any detail they need to keep a record of guests (only reasons hotels can request your passport for) but again a copy was not enough for whatever they want the passport for... dodgy dodgy... They asked me 200000 kip deposit instead ofy passport, i had no that huge amount being my last day in Laos and i did not want to take cash out as ATM in Laos charge a huge commission and the exchange rate is very bad, i dont think i had to sacrifice my economy for using/safekeeping my own passport which i have an obligation for plus they had my credit card details!!! I asked for a refund and chose not to stay there but they refused to refund me even though they do not tell you they keep your passport until they have charged you. As i result i had to leave my passport and could not rent a bike, i could not enjoy Vientiane and make my plans because this hotel does not trust their guests; why should the guest trust them when they have your real passport and your credit card details? What else anyome need to fraud your bank account? I felt like a prisioner for not being able to use my own passport being me the only legitimate person to keep it and insulted for being told what to do with my economy and now i have so much security and safety concerns that i have canceled my credit card being this a huge inconvenience too. Even when i request to have my passport to do the check in of my flight next morning and book a second flight they asked me 200000!!!! Really??? To use my own passport? I took my passport and went up my room telling them to call police if they had any problem which obviously they didn't do. It is one of those places where they think guests are there to damage or stealing their property, one of those that do no trust you and make you feel uncomfortable; they might haverenovated have renovated it but it is still very old school and the shower was a horrible the sink tap was broken, the bed is hard and uncomfortable and it is noisy all night along. Not recommended.…
