Took us 30min to get to the hotel from the city centre. This is a great destination if you don't want to skip town but would love to see something different. I've exhausted all the spots in Phnom Penh so this was refreshing.
Due to COVID, the amenities weren't in full operation. Nonetheless, the room, pool and the golf course view made up for it. There's a gym too but we didnt use it.
We booked a deluxe twin room with a balcony overlooking the golf course. The room was clean, spacious and comfy. It has a hot/cold shower and a bathtub.
There weren't many guests. Felt like we had the hotel to ourselves ❤ Ask for a golf course tour at the golf shop and they'll arrange it for you. There are tons of golfers especially on the weekends, so we had our tour early in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, the food was average at best. Kitchen closes at 6pm. Bring some snacks with you and you can order in meals from a food app (nham24, foodpanda, etc.) The place is far from any pharmacy so it is wise to bring first aid kit as well.
Again, due to COVID the transpo options are limited. We arranged our ride to the city with the receptionist. The night audit manager was nice enough to drive us back.
Overall, with the special price we paid and a beautiful view, can't complain 😊 Best way to recharge after long months of isolation.

I had a really great stay in this hotel. The entire facilities are simply impressive and feel luxurious. I tried the breakfast and the restaurant for lunch and dinner. There is plenty of choice and the staff is very attentive and kind. Same service at the bar where it's a pleasure to enjoy an iced coffee in the afternoon or cocktails in the evening. Spa and golf on site plus a few activities in development. Definitely a really good property.

This was our final destination on our tour of Cambodia. What a gorgeous hotel! The spa and pool facilities were absolutely beautiful and the staff were so attentive. The food was lovely, although there wasn't always a lot available at breakfast time if you went down after 9am. I would definitely recommend the hotel for people looking for somewhere remote but to bear in mind that the city centre is about 30 mins away. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stayed for 6 nights from 9-15 October 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is about 18 kilometres from the city centre which is a good escape from the busy city. The hotel provides a free shuttle at various times of the day which includes drop off and pick up.
It's a luxury hotel with an amazing golf, beautiful views and a lake. The swimming pool was massive with a spa and fitness room which was great for relaxation.
The bedroom and bathroom was spacious, clean and comfortable with a balcony. Housekeeping did a great job and room service was very prompt. My daughter was unwell and I asked housekeeping for extra water, they put extra bottles of water in our room throughout our stay which was very thoughtful of them.
All members of staff were professional, friendly and hospitable at all times providing an excellent service. The Restaurant Manager ensured all his guests were well looked after. I had briefly mentioned that Indian breakfast would be nice, the following morning the Chef prepared aloo poratha which was a lovely surprise. Roem Phearom (Restaurant Waiter) really stood out, he was always smiling, friendly and attentive at all times. The breakfast didn't offer a huge choice, we briefly mentioned baked beans, bananas and cheese would be nice. Roem ensured this was on our table each morning, he provided a personal service.
The only improvement would be in the quality of the food which was just average.
Thai Bunla and the Front Office Manager were always helpful and ensured our stay was pleasant.
The General Manager came and introduced himself and asked about our stay.
It was my birthday the staff surprised me with a cake and sung happy birthday at breakfast. It was very touching which I will always remember. Housekeeping decorated the bed with flowers writing 'happy birthday' and making a cake out of towels. Also they put red roses in the room which was a lovely touch. All the staff went out of their way to make my birthday memorable which I appreciate very much and will always remember.
We are now in Siem Reap and really miss Garden City! I will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends, as it was a fantastic vacation that I never expected. Thank you very much to all the staff at Garden City!

We were excited about our stay at Garden City Hotel, but early on things started going wrong. For brevity's sake, here's a bullet point of why 2/5 is a generous review:
- Arrived and the the clerk at reception insisted I pay more than I had been quoted. He said that prices had gone up because COVID was over...he said this straight faced as we spoke wearing masks. I refused to pay. The manager arrived and apologised. - The room looked good and the balcony had a great view. But there was no hot water. "Run the water longer", they said. I ran it for ten minutes. Then they told me that there's a problem with the pipes our room doesn't get hot water. - The room didn't have English language entertainment channels. We asked about this and it seemed as though they didn't have subscriptions (despite advertising these channels). - We ordered two meals for dinner. The chicken was not cooked (it was served raw!!!!), and the vegetables looked like they'd been pulled out of the freezer. It was truely terrible.
Minor issues: - The pool wasn't prepared for visitor, no towels, the pool itself was full of leaves and other debris. - The cocktails were poorly made, but very expensive.
If you're determined to stay at this hotel, I'd advise bringing your own food and keeping your expectations low. The manager seemed like he knew what he was doing and he organised a discount for us at the end. But it was still a poor and regrettable experience and I would strongly advise staying away.

Excellent value for money. Awesome staff. Great building and large lovely rooms. Nice views over the golf course and lovely breakfast. They also offer a free shuttle service to the city so being outside the city doesn’t matter and it makes for a very peaceful stay. I always get treated so well when staying here.

On arrival to this hotel, my expectations were high; we were welcomed with a lovely drink and the view from our room of the golf course was delightful. They had also decorated our bed with petals and left us a cake as we were celebrating our honeymoon. However, the TV did not work and the wifi was poor. We decided to take a walk around the golf course and were told rather bluntly that we were not allowed and that we had to hire a buggy. Instead we went to the pool, which was completely empty. The pool itself was nice but the atmosphere was so eerie and quiet. The worst part was the food. Being vegetarians, my husband and I had very little to choose from on the menu, and the standard of cooking was poor. The restaurant was again completely empty, it was very bizarre, especially considering we saw many people playing on the golf course. Breakfast was included with our room, but we were unimpressed. The food looked as if it had been sat out since the restaurant opened, and everything was turning. We feel this should not be the case at a 5 star hotel.

I stayed for 2 nights at the garden city hotel during my business visit to Cambodia. It is a beautiful 5 star golf resort away from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh city. It is around 40 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the city. The hotel provides for airport transfers and has shuttle service 3 times a day to the city and back. Staying in the hotel is a very peaceful experience and has a beautiful view from the balcony overlooking the golf course etc. It also has 2 beautiful presidential suites. I strongly recommend the hotel for golf lovers. As this hotel has many venues, I also vouch this hotel for Destination weddings. There is also an animal zoo near the hotel for family with kids. There is a TV station just a minute away from the hotel for any Filming crew visiting Phnom Penh. I want to extend my special thanks to Mr Michael Lim the hotel General Manager for showing me around the hotel and I will definitely refer this hotel to all my friends and business partners to experience this hotel for themselves and for their clients.
