I have stayed here many times before over thev last 10 years. Each time you are welcomed back like a family member. The staff take particular care, remembering things you like and trying to ensure your comfort. Everything is extremely clean and the little restaurant has a reasonable selection of foods. The outdoor patio is a delightful place tlo start your day over breakfast. Definitely good value for the price in a good location.

I have stayed at Anise every January for nearly 10 years. Each time, I bring new visitors and every one LOVES the staff, location, restaurant. Truly, the nicest people ever. Even though the neighborhood has changed (many new high rise projects), it is still a breath of fresh air.

We have just stayed here and after spending a few days exploring the area plan to stay another night. The hotel has an old fashioned grandeur about it. High ceilings, wide staircases and interesting artifacts. The staff are fantastic they are so welcoming and accomodating. We loved the little bar and happy hours with a nice selection of cocktails.Thank you SP

The reviews of Anise Hotel were great and in no way did we have a bad stay, but the rooms are basic and our bathroom was essentially a toilet with a shower fitting above it. It’s not clear how we were supposed to manoeuvre in there. The place definitely has an old time sense of grandeur to it in terms of aesthetic and service. Sadly I think it needs to up its game as there are several fancy new hotels being built in the area. The location is good though and it’s easy to get a tuk tuk outside. We found breakfast pretty disappointing, but were probably nervous after being served undercooked chicken the day before.

Response from SophalD3, General Manager at Anise Hotel
Responded Jan 14, 2020
Dear Fnerini, Thank you for sending us your input so that we can continue to provide the best for our guests. I just checked with our chef to see if anyone has complained about their meal as of late and was told that he has not. For anyone reading this review, if there is any problem with your dish, please do not hesitate to let our waiting staff know so that we can remedy the problem right away. As for the room, you have stayed in the smallest and most inexpensive room we have in the hotel, so indeed the bathroom is smaller, something that is quite common in Asia and in many other parts of the world. Once again, if this is uncomfortable for you, please do not hesitate to ask for a room change. Should we have any vacancy, we would be more than happy to oblige. We look forward to be of service and to welcome you back upon your next trip to Phnom Penh. With best wishes, The Anise Hotel Management Team

Anise is my go-to Hotel in PP, all because of the staff. The hotel manager is very attentive and always willing to accommodate. Aircon not satisfactory? Fixed same day (highly unusual in Cambodia). Need extra pillows? Done! Restaurant staff, same. Highly recommend!
