Our stay at The Pavilion was absolutely gorgeous from the moment we walked through the gates. Complimentary drinks, fruit, cold towels to cool our sweating faces. The staff are phenomenal as are the people of Cambodia. The pool and bar are very convenient and there is a never ending line of tuk tuk drivers out the front to make it...

We stayed in a Standard double room which was clean & comfortable with everything we needed (no private pool though!). The staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the private deck lounges beside the gorgeous pool. Breakfasts were good - and substantial. Walking into the hotel from the bustling, noisy, dusty street - it really was like walking into a sanctuary....

The Pavilion was a great find. It was a good hotel in a good location at a great price. We had a room with our own private pool. The room was fairly basic but the private pool was great. The courtyard pool and bar is a perfect place to relax. Breakfasts were delicious and more than we could eat. The...

I took my wife to Cambodia for the first time, I'd been before, the Pavilion was recommended to me, and I wasn't disappointed, the high walls keep out the noise, the staff were excellent, we had a private pool room which was perfect for a refreashing dip after a hot day of sightseeing, I had never seen cleaning staff who...

I travelled many times to Phnom Penh. After intensive correspondence i finally was able to book the best room, at least i thought so the pool room. The reception was o.k.- and i enjoyed my welcome drink. Just in front of my room I was greeted by mountains of laundry and staff "gaggering" persnonel which i recommend to be moved...

This was a perfect overnight stop. The staff go out of the way to assist you. The room was clean and efficient. They had several levels we select a moderate room looking into court yard. It is a great retreat from the dirt and noise of this city. Nice pool and restaurant bar. We left in private car for Siem...

Its charm is upper what I could expect and its staff is so great with a lot of discretion and a constant concern of what you could need, always smiling. As a business traveller, I try to stay in different hotels to typical 5 star impersonal big ones. Since my last trip tok me to stay in Phnom Penh for the week-end and for the first time, following Tripadvisor, I decided to stay. It is a small, cozy hotel in the city. Don't expect luxe, as you will not find...

Stayed her 2 nights and arrived exhausted from Siem Reap expecting the Heaven on earth... may be too much: Had to carry my luggage to the hotel, since the tuck tuck could not bring me in front of the place followed by an unwelcoming staff busy with her papers... Got the Pool Room greeted by moskitos which for my taste...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
