This was our second time at this charming place ... our personal oasis in hot and sizzling Phnom Penh. Coming back to The Pavilion after 1,5 years felt really like coming home. It's maybe not the most luxurious place on earth, but it has something far more important; atmosphere and a heart and soul. We traveled a lot and seen...

The Pavilion in Phnom Penh was the first stop of our trip through Cambodia and the perfect start. The boutique hotel is situated on a quiet side street, which makes it a tranquil oasis to find some rest after an exiting day in the city. There are several restaurants and shops nearby and you can easily walk to the riverfront...

When in Phnom Penh the Pavilion is where I choose to stay. It does just keep getting better. Each year we return to find an improvement of one sort or another. This year we found that the hotel now has a very nice little gift shop stocked with a lot of lovely items from 'Elsewhere'.The bar/restaurant now has pretty table...

We prefer the cosy environment of a boutique hotel over a business hotel. We were not disappointed with the friendliness of all the staff at the Pavilion Hotel. The receptionist was more than helpful. The Spa was clean and the price was more than reasonable. Breakfast was excellent. There were quite a few good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel....

I'm not sure if there is anything I can add that hasn't been said already. We stayed in two rooms - the suite in the annexe and also the triple room in the main building. Both were wonderful. Simply furnished, clean with all amenities needed including a continual supply of bottled water. Things I liked? Spacious rooms, pool area, free...

This was a lovely hotel in Phnom Penh, located just slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. The grounds are really well tended, with a lovely swimming pool in the middle. The room was fairly basic, but we had a balcony and it was just so relaxing being able to sit and watch the world go by!...

An up market boutique accommodation with delightful secluded pool and garden, with private pools if desired, with choice of room styles. Professional, discrete and knowledgeable staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Truly lovely people. Excellent breakfast. Ideal base to explore Phnom Penh. Complimentary massage and late checkout. On the last day the reception looked after our luggage whilst...

Like an Oasis in the storm of Phnom Penh, this place is a haven of tranquility and calm, all beautifully laid out and fitted out. The gardens, the pool, the rooms..........all faultless. It is in an excellent location too, with most of PP's sights and good restaurants all a short stroll away. Don't hesitate on paying a little extra to...

What an absolutely delightful hotel! We arrived in the evening after a very long day of travel and were greeted by the smiles of the staff and the peaceful oasis of the lush garden and pool area within. The old French villa is truly lovely, and the atmosphere of the whole complex is one of relaxation. We had a pool...

We spent a few days at The Pavillion while touring Phnom Penh and loved it. The staff were friendly, our room was large and clean, the food was wonderful and the pool was a great respite from the afternoon heat. We enjoyed the morning blessing from the monks and really felt at peace here amongst the beautiful setting. We thought...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
