The Pacific Hotel is the first explorer themed concept hotel in the centre of Phnom Penh’s exciting business district. Experience a stay in a hotel where the elements of design and service are tailored to keep you relaxed while walking you through the untold history of Cambodia. Journey through every province in our corridors, which serves as an interactive museum, while being treated like a VIP with our impeccable service for value. The Pacific Ocean derived its name for its specific use of being pacific, meaning “peaceful” or “characterised by calmness”. The Pacific Hotel serves the same purpose. It is an ocean for you to peacefully float on as you explore the beautiful aspects of Cambodian culture and history for the first time just as Ferdinand Magellan first explored the Pacific Ocean in 1520.

I suppose I can rate this hotel as average at best. The hotel is an easy walk to many convenient businesses and staff were reasonably friendly and efficient. The room was a comfortable size and two complimentary bottles of water were supplied. Beds were comfortable and rooms were kept reasonably clean. The gym is small and a bit messy but is suitable for a workout whilst on holidays or business. Unfortunately it was found by one of the guests that the fire exits were either locked or blocked by mattresses that were “airing” and this was raised with staff at the time and they appeared to be at a loss as to what to do to fix it. However I should add that it was eventually fixed.

Room Tip:Check the fire escapes aren’t locked or blocked. Great coffee just down the road at Amazon Coffee.

Dear Dale, First and foremost, thank you so much for staying with us. We sincerely apologized for the blocked fire exit. I have personally taken actions regarding this issue and remove any obstacles that block the fire exit route and also put clean signs for guests to know where the emergency exit is located at in case of an emergency. We take our guest feedback very seriously and we strive to further improve our facilities and services. We hope you would give us a chance to serve you better next time during your visit to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Kindest Regards,

This hotel is not very central to the riverside or Basaac Street (where the bars and restaurants are) so does require a Tuk Tuk. There were limited places such as massages nearby as well however close to the central market, supermarkets and ATM. I enjoy getting the Tuk Tuk so for me it wasn't much of an issue. The windows are definitely not noise proof and lots of outside noise comes through the window so bring ear plugs if things an issue for you. The carpets are stained throughout the hotel (pictured) and the hotel is situated near some dark alleys and were advised that people had phones and watches snatched from outside this hotel. Nothing happened to me. The buffet breakfast has limited options but does change daily. There were no pastry options like other hotels we have stayed at. My room did not have hot water even though I had turned on the hot water switch. This was not ideal after getting rained on. The hotel does not have a pool but does have a useful gym on the 3rd floor. It also has a communal balcony located outside of the lifts (pictured).

We liked this hotel for the cleanness, door closers which stop doors from slamming and waking up the guests. Design is rather Western. Staff could communicate in English. Location is good and safe. Also they provide the filtered water dispensers.

When we arrived, we were given an advertisement about not changing the linen every day. In the meantime, I caught the flu with a bad cough and unpleasant phlegm. So I put a towel on the pillow to protect it. Early in the morning, at reception, I was asked for $6 to clean the towel. Either it's some kind of scam or Cambodia's laundry detergent is not good. So change your towels every day, it will avoid this kind of unpleasant surprise. Since they weren't nice to me, their rooms on the street are very noisy, traffic all night. And for people who want to be kings of cleanliness, you could have at least checked the bottles of water in the fridge, open and half full! When you want to give lessons, you have to be clean. An address to leave for those who don't soil their towel, 38° outside and flu, no excuses accepted, but some money

This hotel should be avoided at all cost. I spent two nights at the hotel and at check out they said everything was fine until they had my tour manager came to me with my dirty towel and ask what’s is this. Which was very embarrassing . If they have a problem with makeup on their white towels they should not use white towels.

Dear Nazla, First and foremost, thank you for choosing to stay with us. Let me clarify this situation with you. Preserving the Freshness of Our Amenities: You might have noticed how cozy and clean our bed sheets, duvet covers, and towels are. To maintain this standard of freshness for all our guests, we kindly ask for your assistance in preventing stains on these items. Some stains can be particularly stubborn, leading us to retire these amenities sooner than we'd like. This not only impacts the environment but also affects our ability to provide the next guest with the same level of cleanliness and comfort. For any cleaning needs in your room, we encourage the use of tissues instead of towels. We are more than happy to provide extra tissues upon request, ensuring that you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Why This Matters? As a budget-friendly hotel, our goal is to offer you excellent accommodations at a reasonable price. One way we achieve this is by keeping our operational costs efficient. By helping us preserve our linens and towels, you play a significant role in allowing us to maintain affordable rates for all our guests. As you may have know, most hotels in the world uses white towels and there are plenty of tissue in your room to wipe clean anything you would like to use on. Once again, we sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused and we hope you understand where we are coming from as well. Kindest Regards,

Avoid room 202. G Adventure had us here 2-nights. Room 202 is on the main highway side and sounds like you are sleeping on the sidewalk with trucks, car & motorcycles driving through your room all night. Room 307 was better the second night. An OK hotel, in a bad part town, on a main highway is a trifecta for a terrible night’s stay.

Dear Mrs Koss, First and foremost, we sincerely apologized for the inconvenience you faced during your stay with us. We also received complaints from you and your husband about our mattress and hot water and allow me to explain it here. As for the mattress, we tried our best to find the right balance between the softness and hardness of it, you might think its too hard but other guests might find it alright as different people have different preference and we try our best to accommodate to all. As for the hot water, there are individual water heater in each room and they are like the ones at our home which take times to be hot (around 5 minutes) and it can get very hot if you turn it to the maximum. I apologized that you did not find our hot water hot enough. We also apologized that you did not like our location but you may ask around or google it. Preah Monivong is considered the central of Phnom Penh where most offices are at and that is why you might find sleeping in room 202 like sleeping on the main road. We will do better in installing better sound insulation windows so as to block out as much noise from the outside as possible. We hope you gave us another chance to serve you again. Kindest Regards,

Very basic hotel. Rooms were quite noisy. Receptionists and door staff were extremely friendly so it’s a good budget option. Good location for exploring Phnom Penh and would return if I was to visit the capital again.

Stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour. Good points, staff were friendly and the wifi was reliable and that's it. I didn't sleep well, the room was very noisy with single glazing and my room faced the main road. Plus the bed was rock hard. There was also a switch that was meant to heat the water but it was lukewarm at best no matter how long I had it switched on. Also location not great would prefer to stay near the river if I had a choice. Breakfast was hit and miss. It really didn't look like the photos.
