Appliances unable to be plugged in as power points were loose and, even with appropriate adaptor, plug just fell out. Moved table to see if there was any better power points only to find big holes in the wall with wiring covered in electricians tape protruding through the wall. There was only one lift servicing 7 floors. Breakfast buffet was nice and staff very friendly and helpful.

* A lovely hotel located in the central business district, and well within walking distance from the riverfront & Royal Palace complex. * Welcoming & friendly staff on reception and in the dining room during breakfast time - whom also proved very accommodating and flexible; for example, offering an earlier breakfast time start on our departure day. The breakfast menu catered for both local & Western style dishes - hence, lots on offer to chose from! * Spacious room - with a high standard of cleanliness, all the necessary amenities, safety deposit box, and very comfortable bed. * Located in a quiet area, hence, I don't consider there would be too many problems as to being allocated an overly noisy room from the 102 rooms available. * A very pleasurable stay, in a lovely city!

We enjoyed our stay at Cardamom Hotel. The room service was somehow done every time whilst we were having breakfast. So we were always able to come back to a nice clean room. The location was good, not a lot of cheap places to eat very close but great places a small walk away. Breakfast was good with a chef who kindly asked us every morning if we would like some freshly cooked eggs/omelette. The only not so nice thing was that the shower was quite mouldy, I usually don't care too much about that short of thing but it did bother me a little. Other than that, everything else was great!

Well, where do I start?? Very noisy part of town, from the 4-5 roosters crowing constantly from the plethora of pet shops in the area, one of which is directly across from the hotel to the local dog barking all night (most nights) from the French restaurant across the road and sealing the deal with an extremely loud wake up call with a 5am loud speaker prayer blast lasting an hour or so, I am deaf in one ear so when I say loud, I mean loud.. Bus loads of foreign (young) tourists coming home through the night talking and even yelling at each other as they walk to their respective rooms and banging the doors closed which echoes through the halls from approx 12 midnight continuing through to 4am.. Room dirty and no functionality, cleaners who could not understand the word pillow case as the spare (severely stained) pillows had no covers, I had to go into a room and point to the pillow case before she understood, look, I understand I am in their country but when you are in a profession that deals with tourism you would expect even the most basic level of language skills but absolutely none of the cleaners spoke any English.. Breakfast was good, that’s the only positive I have.. Would not recommend..

OK.. Well the staff daytime are great and the manager as well. Breakfast is OK.. Not lots but its enough... Like most hotels here now it does cater to large groups Chinese and Vietnamese.. My room on the 3rd floor view was looking out onto a sliding roof.. I asked if I could get higher as there is less mosquitoes the higher you are.. I got an upgrade, well that's what they said with balcony... To 5th floor.. Good size room and bathroom.. Hard bed spoiled it a bit.. But in the wardrobe was 2 extra pillows which was a nice Touch and robes.. Good aircon and TV... All in a nice hotel and well recommended... Problem came on the first night coming back to the hotel from being down town.. The night receptionist stopped me and asked me to sign a form.. When I asked what for he said as I had a visitor.. He took my girls passport.. She's Thai.. But she gave him it.. Then he asked for $15 as a visitor rate.. Told him to check my booking as with most bookings its for 2 people.. I was asked at check in how many people were staying and I said 2...so..my conclusion is that if you bring a girl back your scammed for 15 dollars even though you've booked for 2...just letting you know if you did get lucky.. His attitude was awful. I said not to worry as I'm away in 2 more nights and he said that's up to you.. So I left and booked into another hotel.. Hotel loses money because of ignorant staff... Sad.. Its walkable to clubs.. Bars and eating places.. And the street has other hotels close bye but they were Chinese as in their names... But a nice hotel but not for me.. So I do recommend it..
