Lux Riverside Hotel and Apartments is the one of the best hotel of Khnom Penh, Cambodia. I and my spouse UMI stayed in hotel just for two nights on 7th and 8th Dec. this year when we were on tour of 5 days to Cambodia. The hotel is located at nice quite location. Stay at the hotel was very comfortable. We enjoyed too much in the hotel and got homely atmosphere. Due to the following reasons, Lux Riverside Hotel and Apartment will be our first choice, if we visit again to Khnom Penh, Cambodia: 1. Service at the reception: Very good, fast and well managed 2. Lobby: Well decorated and comfortable with sufficient space 3. Guest Room: Well equipped covering large area with modern accessories such as LCD TV, Safely Locker, AC and Fan, Complimentary mineral water, Tea/coffee maker, and well equipped Bath room etc; 4. Food: Hygienic and Delicious 5. Restaurant: Nice, clean and comfortable 6. WIFI: Free and works good 7. Staffs of the Hotel: All staffs are very professional and they are friendly, cheerful and cooperative. Thanks to all the staffs of the hotel who made our trip special and we recommend definitely having a stay in the hotel to all visitors of Khnom Penh, Cambodia

The hotel is close to the river but does not overlook it, so don’t expect this. Although their pictures are showing the hotel on a side road just very close to the river. The room I stayed in was comfortable and without a window which was absolutely great as the noise in the front street is loud, so if you don’t like noise do not have a room on the front.

I had a one-bedroom apartment in 2019 and it was fantastic. I ended up staying for eight months. The staff could not be better. The property is immaculate and the staff is friendly and highly professional. The front desk people, doorman, and I can forget housekeeping. They were the very best. The place is so clean I didn't have to do much cleaning myself. Full kitchen with oven and microwave oven as well. Cloths washer so you don't have to send anything out. The day manager is super cool and very helpful.She helped me with a lighting problem I had and made sure everything was new and up to date . Thumbs up guys. Like I said Graet place!!!

I have been staying at the Lux for over 10 years every time I visit Phnom Penh from my home in Kampot. I have never been treated this badly!! I made reservations though Agoda and was suppose to receive an email confirmation in ten minutes. Its been over a day since I made the reservations. (they already charged my credit card) I emailed the hotel (many times!) that I need a taxi to go to the airport to pick up a person flying in from America and also staying at the Lux. No answer to many, many emails. They need to hire someone in their reservations/sales office that will actually do the job. Very bad service. I can only hope the rest of their hotel and service hasn't gone downhill like their sales/reservation office. I had my wife (who speaks Khmer) phone them and they had no idea of my reservations or emails. Very poor customer service!!!

The Managers were not honest with us. All the extra fees including the room cleaning which was not done well added up our final bill. They also told us that we could pay monthly and that if we left at half month we could pay half month. We stayed for 2.5 months and the third month the charged us the full month and added on every extra little expense to our bill that they could including a spoon that cleaners later found under furniture. Nice people up front but Management was not fair to us.

Both day shift and night shift staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed here twice in a standard king room. Both our rooms had everything working just fine. Clean, fresh linens and excellent lighting. Segregated shower area with good hot water and pressure. The buffet breakfast for me was fried eggs/omelet, bacon and toast. Enough to last me all day. I used the hotel's taxi contact twice, to Sihanoukville and to the airport. Prices were equal to anything you can find online. I recommend. Your guaranteed a comfortable stay at this hotel.

The location is great. The hotel room booked through third party is value for money with breakfast sufficient for my needs. Initially, I was given a room with no window at all. But, on request, Srey Mom arranged a room with a window saying it was a free upgrade. Thanks to her. The room was clean. Most staff in the breakfast area were struggling to talk in English. I understand there is a shortage of staff in Phnom Penh.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment over New Year. The apartment was fine - a bit basic and the cooker did not work as it had no gas but we did not complain as we ate out all the time. The air con worked well thank goodness as it was hot.
The apartments are close to the river and the night market and so are in a good spot. Not that that matters much as if you install the Grab app, you can get a tuk tuk anywhere for a dollar or two.
The thing I did not like is that the street is full of girlie bars. Per se that is not the issue but it attracts heaps of single men aged 50 to 70, many of them looking plain seedy. The hotel itself has quite a few of them staying, as you will see at breakfast. A few of them are arrogant towards the Cambodians - ironic really as those same Cambodians are such lovely people and far more so than some of those men.
I would not want to put anything off staying at the hotel - it is fine, seemed quite safe, was clean and the staff were delightful. But it is worth being aware of the area.

Great hotel, good location. Staff is excellent. The breakfast needs some variety. My only issue was something missing in my room. I discussed it with the reception. I informed them to keep an eye on a certain employee. Lock money and valuables in the safe. WiFi was much better this visit.

Liked · Having a wash machine in the suite was handy.
Disliked · In the heart of the ‘red district’. Would not recommend for young families as there are a lot of ladies working the streets right out front the door. The street the hotel is located on has bar after bar of ‘adult entertainment’ on it.

Jonas' advice is sound. No river view rooms from what I remember. The alfresco tables across the street at the Red Fox offer great viewing for a quiet drink.

no joiner fee, all your girl/Boy has to do is leave the ID, and hotel will call you after to check all is ok can take but best to book as for 2 people it doesn't cost any more
yes I used to have a small kettle and coffee, teabags, creamer and sugar where replaced every morning by the cleaning staff ! I always find a hotel where at least you can enjoy a cup of coffee before heading out for breakfast - This Hotel has restaurants just a minute or 2 away :) on the riverside which do great breakfasts too and not expensive !
There are more places to choose from in the Phnom Penh area.
