excellent services, nice room, great breakfast and spa. Receptionist Lily recommended a nice restaurant for lunch and made reservations for us. I would defiantly stay again when I come to Phnom Penh. Thanks to every staff.
We just spent three nights in Phnom Penh and were absolutely delighted we chose to stay here. Location is terrific, the staff were just great, and our Royal Suite Double Room with Balcony was spacious, comfortable and clean. The roof bar is delightful (great viewpoint!), as is the restaurant -- and the food there is very good too, including their superb buffet breakfast. Spa was also excellent, and both our massages highly rated (at a reasonable price). The landscaping of the common areas is a delight, as is the amazing selection of artwork adorning the walls throughout the hotel. This is a world class hotel, and clearly designed with a lot of love and attention to detail. If we traveled to Phnom Penh frequently this would undoubtedly be our go-to hotel. Wonderful.
Elegantly designed colonial style interiors, Spacious lobby that will greet us and put us at ease, fabulous restaurant that would give a glimpse of history of the royal family and serve delicious mouth watering dishes. Even though menu is a bit limited, it has something for everyone. Fantastic, well maintained in-ground pool. These days it’s so hard to find such quality in-ground pools. I loved this the most, even during heavy rain, couldn’t resist the temptation to be in the pool. The roof top bar, with the view of the royal palace is stunning. Above all the staff are such wonderful souls. They are willing to go an extra “two” miles to help you out. Ms Lina and Ms Ek Sreytouch were exceptional. The hotel is 5star rated but the service deserves a 10 star.
Great boutique hotel and a good location and service. This is a moderate size boutique hotel. It’s well maintained, well-equipped and makes us feel comfy during the stay. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. I love their breakfast range with great variety of quality choices for the 5 day stay. Only complain I’d have was the wifi which was intermittent and not working for me at all. Apart from that I had a great stay and would totally recommend.
We had a fantastic time. Devid made sure we got a great deal and were taken care of properly. This is our second visit. Great food, beverages, and my favorite pool in the city. See you again soon! The Bawden Clan
We arrived in torrential rain but received a warm welcome. The room was a generous size with massive walk-in shower. Particularly enjoyed the Organic roof bar with it’s great views of the palace & exceptionally friendly staff, and the breakfast buffet which provided an opportunity to sample some Cambodian dishes. Last but not least, we also enjoyed the swimming pool which is very well maintained & in an idyllic setting.
From the moment I stepped through the door at the Palace Gate, I knew I had made the right hotel choice. The welcome was warm and genuine, the room was perfect, and the location was ideal. The building itself whispered of the grandeur of the city. A special thanks to Yi Sothun who ensured everything was perfect. I'll be back.
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights to attend our friend’s wedding. Bonna, the guest relations supervisor, helped us out a lot!! Thanks to him, I could get a traditional Khmer attire to wear at the wedding. We also had a hard time with tuktuk drivers sometimes but he offered to help anytime. Amazing hospitality! The restaurant offers amazing food too. Highly recommend to check out their breakfast and dinner. I tried the hair salon in the hotel too. We have pretty much everything in the hotel! Everyone is super friendly and we are so glad that we decided to stay here. We stayed in the room with the river view - highly recommend it too. We hope to come back and meet the staff again in the future!
We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a month tour of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore. It was our special day when were in Cambodia and from the minute we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel so special after being taken to our room where the bed had been beautifully decorated. 10 minutes later 4 members of staff arrived with a cake for us. The hotel was beautiful and the staff made our anniversary even more special. Thank you
After 4 stays (and at least 25 days total) at the Palace Gate Hotel, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The location on a quiet street between the Royal Palace grounds and the river is perfect. Many of the lovely embassies are nearby and the area is quite safe with little shops and art galleries. There is nothing corporate or cold about this lovely small hotel. Phnom Penh has recently attracted several high-end hotels, such as a Hyatt, the Sofitel and a very elegant Rosewood. All are plush and beautiful, but could easily be in LA, Bangkok or Sydney. If one is seeking an elegant but generic hotel, there are several good options in PP. But if one’s taste runs more towards the authentic and charming, the Palace Gate Hotel/Resort is the better choice. The staff are mainly local and are well trained. There can be some language barriers, but there is always somebody at the front desk to help. From arranging a driver to advice on where to find a certain carved wooden reproduction, the staff goes the extra mile. The guest rooms are quite spacious and have the amenities that one excepts in a 5 Star hotel. The difference being that the rooms are elegantly Cambodian and not generic. The Palace Gate rooms have wooden sculptures on the walls, mini bars, glass bottles of drinking water and views either over the Mekong River or a balcony overlooking the shady courtyard and pool. The Serenity Spa is charming and there’s a masseuse named Maya who works miracles. There is a daily breakfast buffet which is good and offers some Cambodian options. The restaurant menu could use some refreshing, but is still a B+. Yi Sothun, a receptionist at the front desk, is wonderful. His customer service skills are authentic and speaks English like a native. Every request that I made he was able to fulfill. The Palace Gate is lucky to have him! I hope the hotel sees this in him and continues to promote him.…
