It is a great hotel! Great service! San Sopatana, Knut Akron, Keat kanhry at the front desk were super helpful! Helped me a lot! I would recommend this hotel to my friend! Actually I already did! You can have 30% off for the food in the hotel, I like the steak, amok fish, beef lol lak

The G Mekong Hotel in Phnom Penh is on a very busy main road and is not very appealing from the front facade. When you enter the foyer it is quite dark that and is decorated in an old Asian theme. The check in is slow and this hotel has a ridiculous policy of taking a deposit on your credit card, and they tell you it will be released 3 weeks after you check out which is absurd! No other hotels I have stayed in in Phnom Penh even ask for a deposit, but to keep your money for an additional 3 weeks is unacceptable and maybe they hope you will forget about it and this might be a ploy to scam you out of returning your money. The room size is average and the decor is a bit old & dated but the have installed touch switch lighting. The bed is very comfortable and there is a bar fridge, a safe, a desk and chair and the TV is rather precariously mounted on the wall on a funny angle pointing upward towards the roof. They provide bathrobes and slippers, dental kits and cotton buds. The view from the room was non-existent you are just looking onto the roof of another building. Housekeeping was very poor. Each day after they had been in you would have to check to see what was missing, as there was always something they had not replaced like a hand towel or a bath mat and the floors were always quite dirty. The first night I called for a bucket of ice & I was gobsmacked when they came with a very small container of ice and wanted to charge me for it. I said, "You're a hotel and you want to charge for ice? You're kidding aren't you? They said, "Yes its $1 US dollar. Seeing the small amount which would only last for about 4 drinks I said 'No thank you, keep your ice' How tight ass charging for a tiny amount of ice in a hotel, as I mentioned there was barely enough today to put into for drinks so I had to go out onto the street and purchase a bag of ice. How scummy for a hotel to try and charge you for a bit of ice like seriously that is just so tight arse. The service was poor and the ways they use to try and make or save money make the place uncomfortable and I wouldn't return after the experiences here. A hotel is about service and making customers comfortable. Here there moto is to try save power and charge for every little thing and who cares about customer comfort. The bathroom is small and the bathroom sink is located out in the main room. The shower did not have hot water and so I had to call maintenance to come and deal with the shower not working. The shower pressure was weak to average. They would not give you a second swipe card for the room, (again more cost cutting (at the customers comfort expense), so when you went out for the day you would come back and the room which would be extremely hot, stuffy and uncomfortable for the next 30 mins until the air conditioning worked overtime to try and bring the rooms back to a reasonable temperature. This type of tight scrooge money pinching behavior was most unpleasant. They obviously don't know that trying to have all the rooms brought from a steaming hot temperature down to cool that the air conditioning units have to work much harder and it will actually cost them a lot more than if they left the air conditioning running on a mediocre temperature and kept the rooms at a reasonable and comfortable temperature all day. Customers do not want to come back to a hot stuffy room and then have to wait for half an hour until the room is at a comfortable temperature. Extremely tight and poor. The gym was horribly uncomfortable and stuffy inside and as a result noone used it. What is the point of having a gym there if you do not have it cool enough for people to use. With a thing 35 degrees outside and I've got the windows open in the gym and the sun beating on the Windows it was probably about 40 plus in the gym. Pros: Reasonable size rooms Very comfortable beds Cons: Housekeeping never cleaned any of the used glasses or coffee mugs. Overall their attention to Detail and customer service was poor. Room floors were dirty and hadn't been properly cleaned in months Breakfast which was provided downstairs in the restaurant was very poor quality. The tub's containing the buffet items the food was very unappealing and was barely warm and left an unhygienic unsafe temperatures. I wouldn't touch it it was unsafe Shower has poor pressure Too many cost cutting issues at the expense of customer comfort Items lime towels and bath mats continuously removed for cleaning and not replaced every day the lifts stunk inside it was disgusting All of the fruits like the melons and pineapple for horribly over ripe and were soft and soggy and should have been thrown out The gym was also subjected to their horrible cost cutting measures and no one used it because it was hot humid and uncomfortable inside On the 2nd night I woke up to a drip drip and the air conditioner was leaking and that progressively got worse for the next day until on the 3rd evening it left a big puddle of water on the floor. I placed the bathmat on the water to soak it up and called maintenance and I was disgusted and the color of the bathmat turned black from how filthy the floors were; Absolutely disgusting. The leak in itself is just a maintenance issue that they had the maintenance people come and I spent an hour in the room dismantling the air conditioning and again no apology or response from reception or management and I was not offered any form of compensation not even a free drink. More cost cutting and at customers health and safety at risk in the restaurant where everyday was the breakfast foods were served and presented for service at an unsafe temperatures. All of the fruits like the melons and pineapple for horribly over ripe and were soft and soggy and should have been thrown out. Even the fruits were inedible some days they were in such bad condition and to save money this tight hotel wouldn't throw out the poor quality food. They did have an egg station where eggs were cooked to order and that was the only thing worth eating at breakfast. The only positive thing I could release I was the beds were nice and comfortable but everything else was below standard and there are Phnom Penh. I would give this hotel a rating of about 2 out of 10. There is a hell of a lot that needs to be improved in regards to customer service and housekeeping and they have to stop being so stingy with cost-cutting as they do so at with no regard to customer comfort. Do yourself a favor and dont waste your money here, There are way too many much nicer properties around which are not so tight and who are more focused on their customers enjoyment rather than this place that is only focused on saving a few dollars and have no care about customer comfort.

We were just staying one night so wanted a hotel that was central to the sights. Our flight had been delayed and we had to rush out as we were late for an evening dinner cruise . The staff couldnt have been more helpful in arranging storing our suitcases and informing the tour company in advance of our late arrival so we didnt need to make more calls. The room was large and modern and clean and suited us for the one night . A local tuk tuk took us to the other sights We had breakfast and lunch in the restaurant and both were of good quality. The rooftop pool was nice and a good place to cool down and have a beer after a long day

A nice, corporate hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Lovely spacious room with all mod cons which felt very safe. Important for us as we had read about some places that weren't (money stolen from room etc.) Varied and plentiful breakfast included in the room price too.. Lovely rooftop pool to relax in after hot days walking around, made super cocktails too, with views over the cityscape. The city itself not a favourite of ours, but the hotel was fine. Reasonable price for the hotel taxi to the airport for our onward travels.

I'm sure this hotel was wonderful when it was young, but now it is clear that the owner doesn't care about investing in upgrades and modernization. The rooms are decent size, and I found the bed comfortable, but the rest of the furniture was mismatched and in bad condition. The polished concrete floors are nice, but the cheap, cracking vinyl flooring is unacceptable. We spent a lot of time at the pool, and the checkerboard tile deck is filthy and should be washed with bleach every day. The grout is all falling out on the pool tiles, and in-poollights are 'hanging' out of the walls - very intimidating!! The staff are very young, very friendly but speak little English so prepare for exhausting ordering and conversations, and they seem to work excessive hours. Maybe that's their choice. So overall, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay, but this tired old hotel needs a major overhaul!!!
