So I booked this hotel because of the reputation and as their website says no children are allowed so I thought it might be quiet which I wanted at this point in our travels. I will say they do mean it when they say no kids. Almost every day we saw at least one group trying to check in with children and every time the hotel staff firmly insisted that children were not allowed and I think they had the family stay in another property. I put this first in the review so possible customers with children know as I think the policy was buried in the website we used for booking. Anyway, we stayed in two different rooms as we ended up extending our stay in Phnom Penh. Our first room was one of the 2 tiny rooms off the reception area. The room was small but surprisingly quiet. That was my favorite room although the room definitely needed a refresh and we did have a problem with ants. Our next room was a more expensive room (I think the room number was 12). Although nice to have a spacious room with a balcony, it was very noisy on that floor. We could hear our neighbor banging around their room after a night of drinking. Also, we twice had problems with hot water in the morning and had to call the front desk. The staff was nice but was not able to answer questions regarding hours of operation for tourist sites during the holiday.

I enjoyed my stay at Blue Lime. The hotel is located in a small alley and therefore away from the hustle and bustle and very quiet. The staff is very friendly. The room was compact but who cares when you have a fantastic pool area to enjoy. The water temperature was fresh so perfect to swim. The breakfast was good, taken by the pool. I made the most of it before heading home and being confined due to covid-19. I'll definitely go back there when I come back to Phnom Penh.

Blue Lime is beyond superb. The staff treats you kindly and with genuine warmth, they provide juice and cookies upon arrival, there are 4 new bottles of water in your room daily, and they work patiently with you when your plans had to change because of COVID19. The grounds are gorgeous and they give you a great breakfast.

As we travel a lot I had done some research and read copious amounts of reviews on hotels to stay at in Phnom Penh - somewhere that was quiet and central to a few of the palaces etc, as realistically a lot of Phnom Penh is a long walk or tuk tuk worthy... however, whilst the location was nice, there were plenty of Tuk Tuks to snatch up, and it was quiet around the pool etc, the service around the pool was disappointing - there was no one asking if the guests could be looked after and the concierge either wasn’t there or it felt awkward to approach them. Additionally, I barely slept the entire 4 nights we stayed there as the beds are so hard my back was actually sore the next morning despite there being a mattress topper on the bed. There was also no warm water from the tap in the bathroom sink and the air conditioning went from cold to warm at a moments notice... If you’re looking for a budget hotel then this is the place for you, however I sadly don’t think I would come back here, especially if I wanted to sleep :-(

I really hoped I’d have been able to write a better review for this place. As locals, we’ve been using the pool for years and this was our first “staycation” here. Sadly, I suspect it’ll be our last. We had room 7. A “superior double”. The bed was rock hard, even with the mattress topper. The bathroom isn’t exactly en-suite either. You have to leave the room, step onto the minuscule balcony and then enter the bathroom from there. You couldn’t swing a cat in the bathroom either. The bedroom has hanging space for clothes, but no shelves at all. If we’d have been staying for a few nights, this would have been a major irritation. The room is also cramped and badly appointed. There’s only one bedside lamp and one bedside powerpoint - on opposite sides...another case of poor attention-to-detail. The coffee station had three coffee sachets and three sugars - for two people. ??! The biggest complaint we have though, is the service. It’s practically non-existent around the pool. No-one walks around to see if you need anything, so if you do want to place an order for food or drink, you need to haul yourself out of your cabana, walk to the bar and place your order there. This is something we have complained about in the past, but nothing has changed. Service at dinner wasn’t much better. I ordered grilled chicken with a mushroom sauce. I was brought chicken with blue cheese sauce. I pointed out the mistake and was told that “it’s the same”! Erm no, mushroom sauce and blue cheese sauce are entirely different. It eventually emerged that they had no mushroom sauce. Couldn’t this have been explained to me when I placed my order? By the time my replacement dish arrived, my partner had finished eating. It was a disappointing experience. Breakfast was ok but wasn’t enough to rescue our impression of this little “oasis”. We’ll be back to use the pool, but wouldn’t stay overnight again :(
