Having stayed here before, I recommended it to friends & we booked four rooms with balconies for a two night stay. One friend was checked into a room without a balcony, but was moved. My room was very nice, soft bed, great balcony. I understand that COVID has affected the hotel industry, but some warning would have been nice about the restaurant and bar being closed. We sat by the pool the first day and watched the welding being done...eventually complained and they stopped. Then, (in a no children policy hotel) we watched a child cycling round and round the pool. Day 2 - 5 very poor choices for breakfast. Sat by the pool - welding again, complained, welding stopped for a few hours, then started again. Child riding round the pool. Day 3, another poor breakfast and when my friend asked for a second coffee was told that she had already had her two allowed drinks! Water pressure in basin and shower was poor, and took ages to get hot water (if any at all). We asked for a discount and they eventually gave one of our group $6 off! Overall, very disappointing, especially as I really enjoyed my first stay there.…
So I booked this hotel because of the reputation and as their website says no children are allowed so I thought it might be quiet which I wanted at this point in our travels. I will say they do mean it when they say no kids. Almost every day we saw at least one group trying to check in with children and every time the hotel staff firmly insisted that children were not allowed and I think they had the family stay in another property. I put this first in the review so possible customers with children know as I think the policy was buried in the website we used for booking. Anyway, we stayed in two different rooms as we ended up extending our stay in Phnom Penh. Our first room was one of the 2 tiny rooms off the reception area. The room was small but surprisingly quiet. That was my favorite room although the room definitely needed a refresh and we did have a problem with ants. Our next room was a more expensive room (I think the room number was 12). Although nice to have a spacious room with a balcony, it was very noisy on that floor. We could hear our neighbor banging around their room after a night of drinking. Also, we twice had problems with hot water in the morning and had to call the front desk. The staff was nice but was not able to answer questions regarding hours of operation for tourist sites during the holiday.…
I enjoyed my stay at Blue Lime. The hotel is located in a small alley and therefore away from the hustle and bustle and very quiet. The staff is very friendly. The room was compact but who cares when you have a fantastic pool area to enjoy. The water temperature was fresh so perfect to swim. The breakfast was good, taken by the pool. I made the most of it before heading home and being confined due to covid-19. I'll definitely go back there when I come back to Phnom Penh.
Blue Lime is beyond superb. The staff treats you kindly and with genuine warmth, they provide juice and cookies upon arrival, there are 4 new bottles of water in your room daily, and they work patiently with you when your plans had to change because of COVID19. The grounds are gorgeous and they give you a great breakfast.
As we travel a lot I had done some research and read copious amounts of reviews on hotels to stay at in Phnom Penh - somewhere that was quiet and central to a few of the palaces etc, as realistically a lot of Phnom Penh is a long walk or tuk tuk worthy... however, whilst the location was nice, there were plenty of Tuk Tuks to snatch up, and it was quiet around the pool etc, the service around the pool was disappointing - there was no one asking if the guests could be looked after and the concierge either wasn’t there or it felt awkward to approach them. Additionally, I barely slept the entire 4 nights we stayed there as the beds are so hard my back was actually sore the next morning despite there being a mattress topper on the bed. There was also no warm water from the tap in the bathroom sink and the air conditioning went from cold to warm at a moments notice... If you’re looking for a budget hotel then this is the place for you, however I sadly don’t think I would come back here, especially if I wanted to sleep :-( …
