This hotel has the perfect location in Phnom Penh and is a 15 minute walk to many of the city's top attractions like the Royal Palace, Independence Monument, National Museum of Cambodia and Wat Phnom. It costs a dollar or two on ride share applications to get to most of the city's attractions from here as well and there are many tasty restaurants nearby. The pool and sky bar are an attraction in themselves with great views of the city, good cocktails and good dinner.

We booked a standard double room and found the rooms are comfy, but are just a place to sleep in our opinion. The showers have good water pressure, the air conditioning is perfect and the room itself has an interesting industrial design. Our standard room had a view...of a brick wall. They also gave us a welcome fruit plate with oranges and passionfruit.

The tweaking this hotel needs:
Housekeeping - The staff missed our room the first day. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but we think our welcome fruit plate attracted some fruit flies. The second day we were there they took all of our towels without replacing and left a small pile of crumbs in the middle of the floor. The pool ran out of towels our second night there and the staff recommended we get our own towels from our room.

Breakfast - The staff are super nice, but breakfast at this hotel is just sustenance. The best options are the fruit and carbs most days. The a la carte options are all disappointing like a cold Spanish omelette with peas and potatoes, salty vegetable noodle soup and fried eggs that remind you of the worst Egg McMuffin you had in your childhood. The dinner is so good here and makes you wonder how the breakfast can be so bad as it seriously needs help.

Please take the tweaks as reccomendations to the hotel. We enjoyed our time here and would recommend friends or family to stay at this place. The pool, the views at the top and perfect location make up for any of the hotel's faults!

A last minute addition to our holiday due to closing of water borders! But what a great hotel!
Modern, chic, with an amazing rooftop infinity pool which has a large window in it! Wow!
Funky loungers/beds that jut out into the pool.

A great selection of cocktails available at the rooftop bar!

Breakfast is served in the rooftop bar. What a way to start your day. A great view over the city.
Plenty in the buffet, plus a choice of 3 cooked to order breakfasts!

Comfy rooms with exposed polished concrete and metal & wood open shelving!
Need was comfortable with fresh linen and soft towels. The free toiletries were good too.

A good location 5 minutes from the grand palace and an easy tuk-tuk ride from everything else!

Very attentive staff, that even have aromatic oil burners going in your room.

A great base for Phnom Penh.

My partner and I began our first Asian visit at this hotel as part of a Intrepid Travel group. We arrived late after midnight. Check in was professional and the front desk handled some mix up in the room type. The room was clean and average size for a couples room. Bathroom was clean and had good size shower. Bed and mattress was comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony and view. We were able to sit outside at night as we recovered from our 30 hour jet leg. The Aquarius is in a good location to the city’s main attractions. The Royal Palace,National Museum and the river promenade are within walking distance. The night market is also walkable if you choose. Tuk Tuks outside the hotel can be had for about 2$ US to take you to most tourist areas if you choose not to walk. We felt safe leaving the hotel to walk around the area and down to the river. Breakfast buffet is included. The buffet is plentiful with lots of fruit to choose from as well as Asian breakfast specialties. The western style breakfast items were good so long as you are not expecting a large selection. Order the eggs made to order for you! The hotel seems to have brought itself up to speed fairly well following a long Covid slowdown. We would recommend this hotel and stay here again if we are ever back in Phnom Penh.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and were very disappointed. It's a lovely looking hotel, with a great rooftop pool and restaurant, however we were very disappointed with our room and the service. We stayed in the Suite, which is located on the 7th floor, directly beneath the restaurant. There's a lot of noise at night and early in the morning, chairs scraping on the floor, banging noises coming through the floor late into the night and when breakfast is being set up. And on one of the nights they had a live band upstairs which was very loud in our room. We were told that they would finish at 9pm however they continued playing until well after 10pm which made it very loud and unpleasant in our room. The hotel was very unapologetic for this, simply said restaurant guests wanted the band to continue so despite the disturbance to hotel guests they let the band and noise continue.

Also there is a glass door between the bathroom and bedroom, and no window coverings over the large bathroom window so the room itself was very light all night with city lights coming through, making sleep difficult. With light and the noise together we had two sleepless nights!!

Also by late in the afternoon housekeeping hadn't cleaned our room, so we asked for it to be cleaned, the came but unfortunately they didn't clean our coffee cups, or the floor (there was rubbish on the floor from the guest before us) or refresh our water which isn't a big deal in itself, but in addition to the other issues we had with the room it just added to the overall disappointing experience.

We definitely won't stay here again!!

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and this was our last stop in Cambodia after travelling around the country for a week. I can safely say that this hotel was the worst. Upon arrival no one helped us with luggage or came to greet us. We were checked in and taken to our room. Our Co-travellers complained about their room as it was dirty and dusty. They did get upgraded. Our room was also dusty especially the fan and additionally there was a pair of flip flops in the room for guest use. They were filthy as well. Cleaner left a wet cleaning cloth on top of lamp shade. The housekeeping needs to be improved. Not even the toilet was wiped down on a daily basis. The service in the bar rooftop bar on our first night was very poor. Very slow service and when we reminded the staff about our order they were arrogant. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable. The rooftop pool is great. Breakfast is pretty simple but at least the service in the morning was better.

I’m travelling with a school group, 11 adults in total. We came to Aquarius to look at future trip accomodation options (we stay in Phnom Penh yearly for a week...) and also so that our students could swim in the rooftop pool.

After our experience, I have no desire to stay, let alone come back to use the pool.

The staff couldn’t tell me straight how much it would cost for our group to swim and then we finally got to a $12 per head cost. This is super steep for a swim and towel and pretty ridiculous for Cambodia.

After then trying to pay with card, I was told I could pay at the end. No worries. Except when it came to the end, they wouldn’t allow me to pay with card. I had to pay cash which I didn’t have. After a tuk tuk trip to the ATM, I then paid and wasn’t impressed that a request for a receipt seemed to frustrate staff. It appeared to me that staff wanted to keep our payment off the books.

Disappointing as it appears that the hotel has a lot to offer both from a location and facilities perspective. The infinity pool is really cool, great views and our students loved that experience. But the service, pricing and confusion (wasn’t a language issue) was terrible.

The rooftop infinity pool was really great and the breakfast/food was good but the room (super deluxe with balcony) was quite cramped and on the second floor so the view from the balcony was basically a huge construction site and some of the locals homes. The cleaning was unfortunately not up to scratch either. There was a lot of dirt in different places, cobwebs and what we presume too be some other guests chunks of hair dangling in the shower. Our air-conditioning must've been malfunctioning because no matter for how long we had the lowest setting on the room temperature stayed at 26 degrees. We complained about this and they had a look at it but they didn't seem to think it was a problem and we suspect the other rooms had similar problems as well so we gave up basically and just took the covers off at night, sleeping with the fan on the top setting. It's a shame because the hotel looks really good with a hip, modern and cool vibe to it so I had higher expectations.

First of all having been in Phnom Penh at least 7 times and having stayed in different locations for me street 240 is about the perfect location. The front desk were wonderful, the room was immaculate, the pool is beautiful and for the size of the hotel I thought the breakfast was more than ample. The industrial design of the rooms is very simple. This is an unpretentious place to stay which suited me well. I look forward to going back. Good and fair value.

I stayed at Aquarius Hotel after a recommendation from a friend. I had booked a Deluxe Room and was kindly upgraded into a higher category room. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, good wifi, good shower and good sound insulation, I did not hear my neighbors at all. I very much enjoyed the pool on the roof of the hotel and the restaurant. The canapes menu is wonderful, especially when you are looking for a small snack. The only point of improvement I would say is the breakfast. A coffee machine would do well and a selection of bread. Otherwise I would say that this hotel offers value for money. The location is close to the Palace and a 10 minutes walk to the Mekong river. I would go back to this hotel any time.

I am restaurants guests after we paid the bill we go down, but unfortunately, I saw a cap of a beer bottle it come with my phone because my phone charger has a magnet, in that time I don't see any garbage bin nearby the reason why I keep the bottle cover on the counter, but that time the night staff called me to pick it back although my friend goes to take it he still not ok until I go to take it by myself but that's ok I can take it and keep it. But it not end the bad staff he tries to blame us one more time about that in the parking area. I appreciate with restaurant staff but the front desk staff very bad.

You could easily stay here! Wonderful food and hospitality! Other then tours we never left because food and happy hour was so reasonable. We were here in March we had no problems finding a sunbed. Especially with few people traveling these days, it should be exceptionally easy! Have a wonderful vacation!

It depends on your room. We looked over rooftops to the waterside (in the near distance). Same view as from the pool on the top floor.
