We stayed for a full week on a business trip to Dhaka. The rooms are very large and have very good mattresses and also pillows. The bathrooms are very good as well. The food is amazing, and they have every evening a buffet for BTD 3,000 if you are a hotel member. The are at the top is amazing with a very nice gym and swimming pool, you can also have a nice drink at the bar... Overall, it was a very nice experience and will definitely come back

This was my first visit to Dhaka for nearly 10 years and I was apprehensive for all sorts of reasons. But no need not only has Dhaka as a city improved so has the quality of hotels and service ... the Amari in particular. It’s not a huge hotel which is a good thing and not lots of eating options in terms of different restaurants but the main restaurant is excellent. As if the roof top bar .... lovely place to wind down after a long day sat in the Dhaka traffic which is worse than ever ! Small but adequate gym and there is small rooftop pool ... All the staff were friendly and very helpful .... and high level of security which is also essential in Dhaka .

The location of this hotel is very convenient for those with business in the Gulshan area. The facilities are adequate, but the staff have proven unfriendly and unhelpful. Positives: rooms have wood floors rather than carpeting, which makes them seem cleaner. The breakfast buffet is elaborate and tasty, and the staff at the buffet are a welcome break from their colleagues working in other parts of the hotel. The location is excellent. Airport pick-up was efficient and comfortable. Negatives: noise carries badly throughout the entire facility, due to the design and as a side effect of the lack of carpeting. The internet is finicky. The sheets and towels are shabby and stained. The staff in the lobby area are quite unpleasant. The Amari is probably fine for a short stay, especially for those with business in the Gulshan area. However, it isn't a welcoming place for more than a night or two, and I will avoid staying here in the future.

Response from kjameslewis, General Manager at Amari Dhaka

Dear WhoAmIToday, Let me begin by thanking you for taking the time to let us know about your stay at Amari Dhaka and your interaction with our team members. First let start by apologizing for any misunderstandings or rude behavior that was construed on our behalf. It is certainly not our attention do be disrespectful in anyway to our visitors in any means. Our Learning and Development department have monthly training on correct behavior in all areas in the hotel as well as appropriate guest interaction. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Amaya Restaurant breakfast as well as the staff. The location is very central and close to everything making any business in most cases just minutes away. Again except my apologies for any poor behavior on our part and we do look to welcoming back to Amari Dhaka in the near future.

The hotel staff were welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect. Everything worked smoothly, the gym is good and the rooftop pool is a nice touch. However, the food was overpriced. I could eat much better for cheaper in London, UK. I ordered takeaway and had better food for half the price. Also, the use of plastic was excessive. In a world where we need to reduce waste, a hotel that returns each laundered item individually plastic wrapped seems out of touch. So, all in all, a good hotel that needs to correctly price its food and up its environmental game.

The hotel is at great location. The majority of staffs are super friendly. Hotel environment and rooms are clean and well maintained. If the management can lower the prices of their food, majority of guests will eat at the hotel because it has good choices. Cascade was really nice though!
