The merchant baku is an excellent hotel with great location, located in the heart of the city. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and taken care off. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent ! They care for you alot ,special shoutout to Mr. Murad the general manager , Leyla and Piri waiters and Mr Nahid the supervisor , each and everyone of them were so caring and hospitable and the food was delicious too. Must visit !!!
I recently stayed at The Merchant for 5 nights. It was my first visit to Azerbaijan and from the very moment I stepped through the front door to the hotel, I was welcomed like an old friend. The hotel is every bit as beautiful as any photographs show. It’s location is perfect. It really is right in the heart of where you need to be. You are only steps away from cafes, restaurants and shops and the old town. During my stay I walked everywhere and it was never an issue. The area has an amazing vibe and everyone is so friendly. You can easily get to Baku Boulevard, see the Flame Towers and explore the Baku old town. My bedroom was a king size with balcony and situated on the fourth floor. The balcony overlooks the street to the rear of the front entrance. Having a balcony is lovely. It has a table and chairs on it and it’s a great place to people watch. The bedroom was amazing and really huge. The facilities provided have all been well thought out and leave the traveller wanting for nothing. There is a fantastic lounge seating area in the hotel where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. There’s also a superbly well stocked bar that conjures up the most wonderful cocktails. I think a special mention as to why this hotel is so fabulous would be because of its staff. In no time at all you feel like they are your friends. I felt welcomed every time I returned to the hotel. The front desk were always eager to assist with any queries regarding my stay but all the staff were amazing. There is also a spa facility at the hotel. I can recommend the relaxing massage. Olga was excellent. A special thank you would also have to go to Ramazan. Every morning he served me the most delicious and incredibly hearty Azeri breakfast. He always took the time to speak with me and make me laugh and smile and I really felt more than just another visitor to the hotel. As you can tell, there are no bad words about The Merchant from me, only those of praise. This is now one of my favourite hotels that I have ever stayed in and I would have no doubts whatsoever in recommending it to others. Thank you for the wonderful memories.…
Overall my stay was good. The room and location was great. The cocktails at the bar were really good. The only area for improvement would be housekeeping. On areival I did not have face cloths in the bathroom and my one towel was ripped. Overall everything else was amazing. Thanks
Overrated. The service is very slow and it’s overpriced for what it is. I’m not sure if it’s a new hotel or newly furnished one. But the rooms are good the bathrooms are ok. It’s not as clean as it should be for all the high rate it got it’s not as great as I thought. And the higher ranking staff members are bad at dealing with guests. This is a service industry and if they keep it up they will definitely rank lower and lower. I’m not happy with this hotel
Great location. The room we had was huge with a small room to the side. Good facilities within the room and plenty of places to sit in the communal area. The shower in our room flooded the floor. Breakfast was good Didn’t find the staff very welcoming. We had an early morning check in and found it disappointing that they made us pay for a coffee at 7am when we’d travelled through the night. Good facilities let down by unfriendly staff.
The best hotel in Baku for so many reasons: Excellent service and so kind team Restaurant with awesome dishes Rooms and hotel have high level of cleanliness and maintenance. The location…you will not find a better place for sure! It is accessible and close to any interesting point in the city and close to old city and the famous Nazimi street. Breakfast is rich and even when we had to get out early for a trip they prepared us tasty sandwiches. We will definitely come again.
Very nice hotel with pleasant helpful staff , clean comfortable rooms , good breakfast and nice interior. Location is near all the main attractions especially the main restaurant and shopping areas and the old city.
You get what you buy. Very good 4*hotel. Beautiful interior, lovely staff, in the perfect location in Baku since you can walk everywhere and are only 100m away where most tours start. Only 2 downsides: you have to close the toilet seat and the door otherwise you can smell it in the whole room even when room service was just here and it is freshly cleaned. The service at breakfast is very friendly, but super-slow. It takes a very long time for the food to arrive. Just keep this in mind when you have to be somewhere at a certain time. Apart from that I highly recommend this place for your stay in Baku.
One of the best stays in a fabulous hotel with some refined, tasteful furnishings in the recent times. This hotel does really speak for quality. Spacious rooms and excellent facilities including the shower. Above all, what stood for me were the amazing set of staff, who really understand the word "hospitality". I am very pleased and thanks to all of you guys!
The hotel is comfortable, elegant, modern, and perfectly located in the city centre. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. One note: if you are a very light sleeper you should request a room away from the pedestrianised street (Mammadamin Rasul Sade) as it’s a popular street with cafes that stay open all night on Fri and Sat. There was no noise after 11pm any other night. The restaurant serving staff were friendly and proficient. I would give a special mention to Ramadan and Yasher for their excellent and friendly service.
