Hotel is decent. Room looks new, AC barely works it matters in summer. Water pressure is very low. Breakfast: very basic, mostly cold. Bread, omellete. Check out: they said they gave me 2keycards.we couldn't remember. They charged 10mannat for it. I ensured we get a receipt. Water: we asked for water bottle at check out, they said they would charge us. Hotel management - be considerate to tourists. We love your country, coming here to help the economy, Jobs. This is no way to SCAM tourists.

Booked 1 night with city view in Diamond Hotel. Is a modern hotel with pleasant atmosphere. The room had air-con, decent WiFi connection and modern fittings and a minibar with one beer and 2 bags of crisps. Strange I thought for a minibar(will comeback to that later) The first 20 mins was enjoyable. Checked in and taken by staff member to my room. While I am laying on my bed I hear the room door open and nothing said but door closed. Called reception and manager appeared a few mins later, explained what went on. It transpires housemaid thought she knocked on door and was coming back as she forgot her mirror cleaner. Also asked manager why there was only 2 curtains and there looks like there she be 3. His reply was quite outstanding that it would be dark soon!! I could understand if you were working nights.!!! Not a response I was expecting. I should have known then that all was not going to be well!! After returning in the early hours after having a good time in Baku, it dawned on me that the mini fridge was lighting the room which didn’t help with the sleeping situation with the outside light coming through window from where missing curtain should have been. Got up and had the breakfast which to be honest was fairly decent although not what a European hoping for a good old fry up would relish. With that I went to check out and that is when the fun really started! Yes sir your room has been paid for but you used the mini bar! Well sorry no I hadn’t. I opened the fridge to put 2 bottles of water in and that’s it. What’s am I supposed to have had? There is a list sir..... What list? Why didn’t you staff member who showed me into my room point this so called list out that doesn’t exist? Well a lot of the mini bar is missing! Well I am telling you I am not happy about being called a liar With that the staff member goes off and makes some phone calls Sorry we made a mistake!! Well thanks, obviously you have made a lot of mistakes in the 18hrs between me checking in and out!! Looks like housekeeping just isn’t doing the job properly Also just to point out when they call the room city view, its currently a view of the road behind the hotel which is a building site. There is no view of Baku which you would expect from a city view room!!!

hotel was very clean, the staff new english( not many people know English around here) staff were very friendly and willing to help with everything i asked. the bar although quite small was cheap and service was quick.. only con i can think of is that the hotel is a bit far from the main tourist areas(not walking distance) wich means you have to get a taxi everytime you go out. the staff ordered me a taxi everytime making it easy for me. overall i recommend.

The hotel is about 15min walk to the subway but has a bus stop right outside the door. Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room but worked in the common areas. The room is modern and clean but with some “weird” details (the kettle plug doesn’t fit the plug in the wall.... the safe box is not fixed... you can remove the whole thing!). The TV doesn’t have international channels (and local channels are just terrible). Breakfast is ok but very few sweet options and the service needs improvement to get to european standards. Price is good.
